About This Game



This is a experimental experience about depression. One playthrough takes about 10min, exploring everything around 30min to 1h.

I started working on this game during a very dark period in my life, which helped me getting out of there. Afterwards I spent about a year polishing everything. Feel understood if you are a sufferer of depression yourself. Gain insight into this mental health issue as someone who is not affected. Whatever it may be, I hope this experience will be some sort of help to you as well.

Oh wow, what a ride.. I was very curious to play this. It starts off nicely and I was intrigued.

And then boom it's over after 5 minutes. Already?

I get the idea behind the game and I thought it'd really appreciate it, but it's just over before it starts and it doesn't really "get" to me in that short of a timespan.. Rubbish crap that plays on the Depression band wagon.
Cashing in on real peoples issues for the mighty dollar.
Disgusting!
This is the the worst of the worst!
Nearly as bad as the No Mans sky rip off! And that is DEPRESSING!. I feel personally attacked by this relatable content.

This is a really powerful little game. Nifty puzzles and an important message.

. Update 1.62:
I can't believe that it's already been a year since I released Tomorrow Don't Come! :O

Lots has been improved and further polished thanks to your feedback, which makes today's update number 18 and brings us to an average of 1.5 updates per month.

  • Chapter "Curtain" is now accessible again after a regular reset and does not require to reset all achievements anymore.
  • Dual screen setups: the mouse will now only be contained to one screen when necessary during certain chapters.
  • Moving Forward: improved the triggering of the next chapter.
  • Fixed an audio bug where the whispers wouldn't stop after a reset.

If you find any more bugs, let me know. I'm always eager to fix them. I already know what my next game(s) will be but as you can imagine with all the updates I did for this game, there wasn't time to actually start working on them. I do hope though to have something ready by the end of the year. Stay tuned and follow me here to not miss any announcements. <3

You all are awesome! When I had asked for your help regarding additional subtitles, I had not expected so many responses so fast. The first additional language, thanks to Sergei Antonov, is Russian. Also thanks to your feedback, a bug where the just a white screen would appear and the game never start, has recently been fixed. I've never managed to reproduce this on my end, that's why it's so super important to report any bugs you see in the forum. I'll usually take care of it right away because I want all of you to have the best experience as possible and not get stuck or thrown out of it because of a silly bug.

We are also very close to 50 reviews! If you like the game, please leave a review if you haven't already and tell your friends about it. I've heard many amazing stories already how the game somehow helped people and I would like to spread those positive waves even further.

Here's another small update, bringing a few new sfx and an updated logo, nothing grave but I hope you'll like the improvements. Thanks for all the positive feedback once again. <3
  • Looking back: fixed a bug where the glitch wouldn't start and added a safety net that automatically triggers the glitch after 3 minutes
  • Darkness: added new sfx
  • Let me die: added new sfx
  • Safe: added two new sfx and changed font when opened to make it feel more personal
  • Menu: background now fades to black when clicking on Continue
  • Credits & opening screen: added new logo & animation

Hotfix 21st June: the new changes caused an sfx to play unwantedly when chapter "Looking back" was selected from the menu and in the same chapter some graphics randomly showed up before the glitch was playing. Both bugs are now fixed.

For those who celebrated, I hope you had a relaxing Easter! I used the days to add more fluff & fix some bugs in the game. Here is an overview of what has been updated:
  • Videos should now play for everyone, no more white boxes!
  • Additionally added videos for the chapters Intro & Curtain in the chapters menu
  • Added smoother transition from chapter menu to selected chapter
  • Added smoother transition from the chapter curtain back to chapter menu
  • Fixed a bug where the video in the final chapter would start at the wrong position after you've triggered a certain event
  • Updated behaviour for the hint to show up in the final chapter
  • Updated the dialogue box behaviour after the final chapter and made the hint more clear
  • Try again now skips the intro dialogue of the chapter
  • Updated conditions for unlocking achievement Step by Step. I'ts still the same process but now triggers faster
  • Fixed some minor navigation issues after finishing and resetting the game
  • Fixed some minor sound bugs & lots of other stuff, too minuscule to be worth mentioning in detail

Hello and welcome to the biggest update yet! The recent weeks I've been busy adding controller support to TOMORROW DON'T COME, which was quite the difficult task as you can imagine for those who've already played the game.

Since a controller has less buttons to interact with than mouse & keyboard, it makes solving the puzzles a little bit easier but on the other hand it delivers a more immersive gameplay feel. It's definitely worth playing through the game with both options since both deliver a little bit of a different experience.

Small disclaimer though: I could only test it with a XBox 360 controller but it should work with others as well. Here's also the rest of things that got improved during the extensive playtesting:

  • Move forward
    • Fixed a bug where steps sfx wouldn't play
    • Fixed a bug where "I keep looking back" would stop moving if certain keys are pressed
    • Fixed a bug where the brightness of the words wouldn't go back to normal after you've already moved backwards
  • Looking back
    • Optimized the code to increase performance
    • Fixed a bug that would only occur with a multiple monitors setup
    • Fixed a sound bug when coming from the chapter selection
    • Fixed a tiny error where an object had the Hex Code #000008 instead of #000000, causing it to appear slightly blue
  • Trapped
    • Edited some sfx for a smoother experience when "trapped" appears after the build up
    • Added a fade-in if coming from the chapter selection
  • Let me die
    • Removed impact sfx because it didn't really fit and I like the symbolism of there being a bottomless pit better than hitting rock bottom
    • Added a fade-in if coming from the chapter selection
  • Curtain
    • Fixed a bug where a text was disappearing too fast
    • Fixed a bug where a text would just appear without the typing
    • Fixed a bug where the drone sound would play again when solving the chapter under certain circumstances
  • Chapter selection
    • Updated the video for "Looking back" to give a better hint
    • Updated the video behaviour: if a chapter is solved, it will now automatically start playing the next unsolved one
  • Misc
    • Added version number to start screen
    • Fixed a bug where sfx on mouse-over wouldn't play the very first time you start up the game
    • ...and lots of other tiny stuff again to improve the overall polish that is not even worth mentioning

Please report any bugs you encounter here. I've spent two weeks only playtesting this time, so hopefully I didn't oversee anything grave.

Here's another small update for you. :)

As promised yesterday, the Intro has now been added to the chapter selection as well after you clicked on reset. Additionally, I added the possibility to completely reset the game, including all achievements, once you've unlocked "???".

The next update will be a bit bigger and probably come after the weekend. I'm currently testing windowed mode and will look into changing of resolution afterwards. Would you like to see anything else in an options menu?

I got note, for some people "Looking back" can break sometimes, I'll look into it what causes this problem.

Since it's currently mental health awareness week, I want to let you know that you can always talk to me if you need someone to listen. Day by day, you can get through this. I believe in each and everyone of you. We will win this, together.

This time I added a bunch of new sound effects and killed many little bugs I stumbled upon. A few of the changes I had already uploaded beforehand, like the Final Destination achievement bug.

  • Move forward
    • Added a new sfx
    • Words now go italic much faster if you come from the chapter selection
  • Looking back
    • Added two additional sfx
    • Fixed a bug where the sliding sound would still play before the glitch
    • Fixed a bug where a soundfile wouldn't play if you've somehow managed to find the good end on the first playthrough
  • Trapped
    • Fixed a bug where sometimes no particles showed up
    • Tweaked the behaviour a little bit
    • Fixed a bug where sliding sound would still play on the edge of the screen when using multiple monitors
  • Let me die
    • Added two new sfx
    • Fixed a bug where the shockwave would still play after coming from the chapter selection
  • Darkness
    • Added a new sfx
  • Wordplay
    • Rearranging of the words now does not play anymore if you come from the menu
    • Fixed a bug where "enjoy" would jump to the mouse position on left click
  • Curtain
    • Fixed a bug where typing sound wouldn't play in the beginning
Menus & Misc
  • Added a new sfx to the ending
  • Updated safe graphics
  • Updated videos for Intro and Curtain in the chapter selection
  • Fixed a bug where "continue" would jump to another location after clicking on it
  • Fixed a bug where the Final Destination would not get unlocked if one unlocked Dead End first
  • Fixed a bug where hints in the menu would still get shown after you've already finished the first playthrough
  • ...and lots of other tiny tweaks and stuff ^^
