Please save us from DTG's plague and continue working on including more types of traction motors and braking system technologies while leaving to community to create more content payware under your control maybe or freeware. This game has the foundation and only can grow from here with the editors. Thanks, Lapioware.. I like it alot! it runs better then i was expecting. Locked 75FPS with a Ryzen 1600 stock, 16GB RAM, GTX 1080. Yeah there are some framedrops but not much. and it don't ruins the game for me. if they fix the framedrops here and there. man this is awesome! it looks great, (scenery need to be worked on) the sounds are awesome, very realistic. mayby in the future some more trains (modern) and this will be a blast! thanks! I def reccomend this.. Started off good but lack of DLC and updates kills it for me now which is a shame but i still play it if you like old style trains. If this gem of a game could be modded to include a steam engine I would build a temple for the modder and name him a deity. Good game though. Bare bones. Reminds me of the old Train Simulator game. Remember that game? You could buy it and actually have content without being hit up by racketeering extortionists? Hope this game goes old school like the games used to be.. Nice to have a fun train-sim.. quot;Diesel Railcar Simulator" is a very fun and relaxing sim, its one of the best i have played & have tryed a few.. I really wanted to like this game; but everything is against it. Many complain about the graphic; and yes.it is ugly even for a Unity game; but what did turn me off completely, was the total lack of polish whatsoever. I can take a game that is fully completed or almost completed, that use placeholder assets, since if you are a programmer, of course you use Asset Store stuff; but this game seems mostly deliberately ignoring any sort of graphical element, leaving menu, game HUD and game itself, as empty as a Unity demo project. The gameplay is also pretty much limited to basic operations. They are simulated, more than in TSW or TS; but this is really not much if you look at it. Great work on the suspension animations; but I don't see anything that make me think that under the hood, the simulation is leap and bounds above any other generic train sim. Nothing really to go on; I didn't last too long before giving up on it. Maybe in 2-3 years this game will be a beauty and will play like the best sim ever made; but until then, what you get now is a barebone alpha project, which really offer nothing much at this point. Hold off while you can; the game has potential but for now there is really nothing to go on.. The Dirt Rally of train simulators.. My favorite thing to do these days at the end of the day is to sit down with a cup of tea and drive Diesel Railcar Simulator. Each drive is 24 minutes in length, which to me is ideal. My favorite thing about the game is the quality of the physics. My wish. to have the choice to just drive without the rigor of the precise speed limits, acceleration and deceleration patterns, just to relax, enjoy the view and let the imagination soar.

Route editor beta test : To participate in the testing, please open your Steam client and right-click on the game, then select Properties from the pop-up menu. From the properties window go to the Betas tab and choose the beta from the drop-down menu (no password required).. Timetable editor available : The first editor is now public along with Workshop support! Click the "New" or "Edit" buttons at the top of the service selection screen to open the timetable editor, or choose a different timetable from the drop-down menu. To do stuff in the editor, click on things or empty space with the right-hand mouse button. A quick guide for using the timetable editor will be added to the guides soon. The existing timetables have also been revised for this update: the running and starting times are now more relaxed for some services that previously were impossible to finish on time. You still may need to try a particular service multiple times to get favourable traffic conditions from the random number generator. Don't miss the new experimental shiftwork timetable for the demo route! The "Failed buffet" service is intended to be rescued instead of driven normally.. Bugfix update released : Version 1.2.3 is a bugfix update with many small fixes and improvements based on your reports and suggestions.. Another small bugfix update : More small bugfixes! This new version should require a bit less memory than the old one and be less prone to crashing. Notice: simple controls are the default again.. Timetable editor beta : The first beta version of the timetable editor is now available! The editor enables you to create your own traffic to the existing routes with custom station stops, running times and train formations. Head over to for instructions and discussion.. Crash after subscribing to workshop routes : Many of you have noticed that there are new routes in the workshop available for subscription. Something that wasn't clearly mentioned before is that the routes work in the beta test version only! Trying to use them in the current version will crash the game when you try to open any of the (old) routes. If the game crashes upon opening a route you can fix it either by: 1) unsubscribing from the routes in the workshop, or, 2) downloading the new beta test version by opening your Steam client and right-clicking on the game, then selecting Properties from the pop-up menu. From the properties window go to the Betas tab and choose the beta from the drop-down menu (no password required).. Route editor preview video 1 : Work on the route editor is still progressing! Most of the track, signal, station and other infrastructure editing features are ready. Scenery editing still needs to be completed before the first beta test version can be released.
