About This Game

Once upon a time...

Deep within the walls of a gloomy castle in the equally gloomy land of Draxsylvania, the young, gifted opera singer Mona De Lafitte is held captive by her tormentor, vampire Baron Shrowdy von Kiefer. Ever since she was transformed into a vampire by Shrowdy and whisked off to Draxsylvania, her greatest wish has been to return to Paris, continue her singing career, and one day become a star at the Paris Opera.

When Shrowdy fails to return from a nightly foray, she at last sees an opportunity to flee. Together with her only friend and confidant, a cheeky bat named Froderick, she escapes from her prison and tries to find her way back to Paris. During her flight through Draxsylvania, where she encounters some strange inhabitants and some even stranger challenges, Mona must learn not only to accept her vampire nature, but also to use the abilities she has acquired to her advantage.

I liked it at first. It was fun and silly. But going back and forth to places I'd already been several times only to have one more new item show up that wasn't there before did me in. I didn't finish the game.. Lots of dialoge

but all in all a good game i recomend it. Its not a bad but not a good game neither
i cant even play the game since i bought it thanks to a bug
it lets me click the play button in my libriary but it wont go into the game
ive restarted my computer ive reinstated my game files

nothing is working to get the game to play. Do not buy this game! It doesn't work! It's rip off, there is no patch or anything and there won't be probably. So if you have win 7 and above, you can't play it. It's looks like a great point & click game, but...

*This is what I found and it worked, but without cutscenes etc. However, for me it didn't worked fully.

1) Navigate to Program Filesx86
2) Select "Steam" folder
3) Select "SteamApps" folder
4) Select "Common" folder
5) Select "A Vampyre Story" folder
6) Select "Game" folder
7) Scroll down to "Main"
8) Right click "Main"
9) On the Compatibility tab - click "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (ServicePack 3)" from the drop-down
10) Also under Settings: check "Disable display scaling oh high DPI settings"
11) Also under Privilege Level: check "Run this program as administrator"
12) Click the "Apply" button and close the pop-up
13) Back in the "Game" folder, locate the file named " libpandadx9.dll "- click the file name and add a 2 - libpandadx9.dll2
14) Click "Main" and start the game
15) Set Anti-Aliasing to zero
16) Exit game, go back to the Game folder, remove the "2" from libpandadx9.dll2 so that it reads libpandadx.dll (ignore the pop-up warning)
17) Click "Main" again and the game will run perfectly with all the cutscenes. the game dont start. The gameplay was incredibly slow. Being able to fast-forward scenes, dialogue and player movement via keyboard would have definitely won me over but my impatience got the better of me. Could have panned out better but i'm very disappointed :(. A bit basic in my opinion compared to some of the other puzzle games I've played, but a lot of fun nonetheless. It has some good funny moments, and some of the puzzles aren't too easy to solve either. Plus I really like the whimsical, Tim Burtonish look and feel of the game. A good game to play when you just want something to relax with.. Played this years ago never finished it. Grabbed it now on sale for $1.99 and was very ecstatic to finally finish this but sadly I couldn't even get the game to start. Tried every single method to get this to work, including patches and setting this to XP compatibility and admin mode, but could not get it to start. Refunded fast (within 20 mins). Stop selling games that do not work Steam!. Not recommended, the game is incredible good, has a interesting history, likeable characters, superb voice acting and animation ,the puzzles are challenging,I admit the game don't work too well in modern OS, but I put a guide so people can make it work with easy ,I use a windows 10 and I get it to work with all the cuteness, I even finished it ,the only problem is that the game was minded to be composed of 4 episodes, and this is only the first ,it has a good length you will spend a lot of time in this ,but to expend hours in a game and its end in a cliffhanger, and when you check it on Facebook they say the sequel is on hold, is simply disrespectful!!! I expect that they enjoy my money that I put in the game in the hope that its a full game ,don't put this type of information was dishonest and a bad customer service ,shame on you guys...
