About This Game
Against a darkening background of famine, disease and war, a new power is rising in the great steppes of the East. With a million horsemen at his back, the ultimate warrior king approaches, and his sights are set on Rome…
The next instalment in the multi award-winning PC series that combines turn-based strategy with real-time tactics, Total War: ATTILA casts players back to 395 AD. A time of apocalyptic turmoil at the very dawn of the Dark Ages.
How far will you go to survive? Will you sweep oppression from the world and carve out a barbarian or Eastern kingdom of your own? Or will you brace against the coming storm as the last remnants of the Roman Empire, in the ultimate survival-strategy challenge?
The Scourge of God is coming. Your world will burn.
Apocalyptic destruction mechanics
Wield the ferocious power of fire in battle to set buildings ablaze and terrify defenders, or wipe entire cities and regions from the face of the campaign map with the new raze mechanic.
Legendary start position
Playing as the Western Roman Empire you will begin with vast territories under your control, but weakened by political in-fighting and threatened on all sides by enemies, your dominance will quickly become a struggle to survive.
Overhauled game mechanics
Improved core gameplay and UI through the latest optimised and modified Total War game mechanics, including politics, family tree, civic management and technological progression.
Incredible period detail
With new period-specific technologies, arms and armaments, religion, cultures and social upheaval, Total War: ATTILA delivers an authentic experience of this ominous chapter of our history.
Outstanding visual fidelity
Improvements and optimisations to both campaign and battle visuals create a chilling vision of a looming apocalypse and the ruin of the civilized world. With breath-taking scale, atmosphere and improved graphical performance, witness the end of days and the rise of a legend. b4d347fde0

Best game in the franchise. It's complex and extremely punishing, but once you understand the basics it becomes addictive just in the attempt to survive for one more turn. You'll be chased around the continent by armies outnumbering you 5 to 1, you'll quell multiple rebellions every turn, you'll be declared war upon by literally the entirety of the east, and you'll love every second of it.
by the way optimization is absolutely awful and chances are that by turn 100 you won't give a s*** and go on to play 200 more.. Great game. I recommend this game if you love total war games, and also love a challenge.. horribly optimised. I love total war games but they realy wen't down with the voice acting now barbarians sound like cheese eating dutch people and nothing like a proper barbarian but more like a poorly english speaking dutch man instead of a rough talking warrior this annoys me so mutch i can't play this game the soul fact that they tought they could just use the same voice actor a random dutch guy for every faction even the french sound like him the english barbarians sound like him its just terrible. i bought, played for an hour, game was trash so i returned it. I must say I like this game a lot. Originally I purchased it during a sale, not thinking too much about it. For a long time, I expected it to be almost the same game as Rome II, but in a different time period. But how wrong I was... Yes, TWA is similar to Rome II in many ways, but it is also far superior in others. In fact, I would go as far as to say that this game is a direct upgrade of its predecessor. A lot of times, it feels as if someone took many the things that Rome II did in an annoying way, and fixed them.
First of all, let's just quickly go over the negative aspects, to get those out of the way:
- It's after all a Total War title, and naturally, there are a few bugs here and there. I won't (and quite frankly don't know if I even could) explain exactly what they are unless I wrote an entire book about it, but as far as I have been able to tell, it has not been anything game-breaking.

- Sometimes units don't quite behave like you would expect them to. And that applies both to the enemy AI as well as how your own troops seem to interpret your commands. Then again, it's a Total War title, and we all know that this is an issue with all those games.

- Naval combat feels overall lacking and not as immersive as you would expect. Contrary to that, I have seen people on YouTube praising the naval combat in this game, but personally, I don't quite see it.

- The game is quite hungry for graphics and performance, especially during large battles. It can of course be tweaked to improve performance, but it is worth to mention for users with a slower machine. I would probably not want to try this game on a laptop.
