This is not actually a review but an advice for all those ppl whining about how hard is to get best resources (refined materials) Well first thing you need to do is settling next to a tier 2 gem resource Start making jewelry befriend stingers, goblins or shadowkin (shadowkin are the best for this) and TRADE, from now on you are set for easy dragon bone and leather If you befriended shadowkin, you can get even top equpmnet from best materials which you can dismantle or keep also hunting werevolves is a good source of 4 ier bone and leather. not bad, compared to the first is far better.. Absolutely fantastic! You can tell the devs poured a lot of love and passion into this one! I'm really enjoying the game.. Thea 2: The Shattering is a 4x strategy game, of sorts, with turn-based combat presented as a card game. The game has lots of flavor text, events, and writing (the walls of text generally have "TLDR ME" options). Thematically, it is a fantasy/apocalyptic story with lots of mythology (generally slavic), but it isn't afraid to throw in pop culture references and easter eggs throughout the myriads of events. Do you need knowledge of mythology, slavic medieval life, or Thea 1 to enjoy this game? -NO How hard is the game? -There are lots of difficulty settings, save scumming is allowed, as is event editing. However, the game is merciless until you learn the different systems. My tip? Treat it like a 4x strategy rogue-like and enjoy your adventures. Is this game better than Thea 1? -Depends who you ask. In my opinion, yes. Thea 2 has so much potential (though it may not have tapped in to all of it yet) -Early Access had a lot to offer, and the team behind it care about their game and community. You can expect more content and updates, if their track record is anything to go by. Recommended? -Yes, for those that like strategy games, 4x, leveling up characters RPG-style, mythology. -No, for those that generally dislike rogue-likes. The game is more unforgiving than say Civ6 or Stellaris, in some ways. And you have to PLAY to unlock more and more starting perks.. I was a huge fan of Thea 1, and Thea 2 definitely delivers. The combat system in Thea 2 is very different - I highly enjoy both systems, but the new system in Thea 2 I have to say has more flexibility and potential. The quests and random events are extremely enjoyable, and now you have over a dozen neutral factions to interact with. The God Card system is a drastic improvement over Thea 1's God level-up system. The art and music are amazing. Some balance and quality-of-life improvements could definitely be welcome, but I'm not worried because I know the devs are definitely listening to the player base. The game has come a LONG way since it first entered Early Access, and we know there is still more content coming.. Once you discover the "game loop" the game isn't fun. I waited until release to buy this so I could enjoy a "full" experience. This is not it. I'm reasonably convinced they grabbed a game designer fresh out of a 101 class who played so many games they must be great at making them. Let's pray for mod support so the community can do the heavy lifting on the design end. The foundation is solid.. This game is fantastic, but I just can't put my finger exactly why I like it so much. As a first experience, it's an amazing journey. The atmosphere, the world, the storytelling, it's very immersive. The excellent soundtrack makes it even more so. I love this game. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes rpgs, or 4x games, or survival games. This game has very high replayability value, but even if you just play it a couple of times, it's still worth it. Another factor is how moddable it is. After steam workshop is implemented I imagine there'll be a lot of mods to spice up the games. I also have to mention how awesome the developers and the community are. I've been participating in their discord channel for a long time and the Developers are very talkative and great at receiving feedback. You notice how much love and effort they put into the game. Thea 2 may be on full release now, but it will still grow and grow for a long time to come. For its price, it's a must-have game, its uniqueness alone warrants a purchase.. It is good BUT why is this game increasing my system temperature more than AAA games on Fantastic 2560 ?
