About This Game

Galaxy squad is turn-based tactical roguelike, in which you are leading a squad of mercenaries through randomly generated galaxy with different events.

The game combines node-based exploration with random events, similar to games like FTL or Renowned Explorers, with hardcore tactical battles, inspired by XCOM series. All your characters are randomly generated, and you can evolve them however you want, creating ultimate crew.

For now the game deserve a 3/10 , but the idea is good. It lack mission diversity for now , i feel like it miss so management option too , maybe more classes would be nice. But its a Early access , i trust the developers , pretty sure than one or two years from now this will be my favorite game. Please Don't abandon it , i trust you on this one. (Cmon guys , its cheap , buy it , support turn-based indie games that doesn't surcharge you and sell 20 useless DLC). 3.00 is a minuscule investment in a game that has so much potential, even though (as many other reviewers have said) it still has a long way to go.

Galaxy Squad could become the micro-scale alternative to macro-scale turn-based space games like Endless Space 2. Instead of the Federation or the Galactic Empire, think Firefly.. Very early game yet, but it looks very promising.. The game is in Early Access.
And you can tell, its a bit rough.
But the Dev is working on it daily.
You can see where he was inspired and you can see where he put a lot of love into it.
In time, this will be a fun game I'll put a lot of hours into.
Its going to take a lot of dedication, but he's shown it so far.
Keep it up (:. So far this is an amazing concept, taking the transport and encounter aspects of FTL and mixing it with XCOM style combat. The game could do with more content (then again, it has only been out for a very short time and is early access) and is a good experience. The art style is pretty damn cool too, and I have very few complaints.

In summary, this is an early version so content is a little lacking however with continued work from the developer this game has very very good potential to become a success, and I would reccomend purchasing it if you like the sound of the concept and would wish to support the game in going further.. EA is one thing, but there's almost no content whatsoever ATM. It plays like a demo.

I'm assuming you get quests at bars? The ones I've been to are all empty. There's very little selection in character appearance or skill set, in squad size, in base building, or in anything.

People are saying this is like a mix of XCom and FTL, but truthfully it's not like anything. It might become a game like that, but right now, Galaxy Squad isn't far enough along to make any claims. I can say it doesn't crash to desktop, but other than that it is a complete skeleton.

I know a lot of people are willing to give any EA game a positive review regardless of how buggy or empty it is. I don't get how that helps buyers make a decision. My belief is that if you're putting something on Steam, it should be both entertaining and playable. This is playable in that it doesn't crash, but there's nothing entertaining here yet.

This will probably be worth buying, as a game, 3-6 months after my review. Until then this is more like a kickstarter.. Great potential for a game.. EA is one thing, but there's almost no content whatsoever ATM. It plays like a demo.
