What’s Tiered Link Building?
Internal link / Inbound link - a link from one part of your website to another (this is also called a backlink. That being said, "backlinks" usually refer to links from other sites web). You will also see that people refer to them as internal links, connecting lines or interconnection.
Inbound link - a link from a website to a page on your site (these are the types of backlinks that everyone follows)
Sending link - a link to a web page (this can come from an email, a Microsoft Word document, etc.).
Outbound link / External link - a link to a page on another website (ie a link to another website). If you connect to mynewwebsite.com, you would refer to that link as an external link. The good people at mynewwebsite.com would refer to this as an inbound link to their site.
