Liquids and gels are allowed in carry-on luggage but must be in a quart-size clear plastic bag. Anything larger than that will have to be declared to TSA at the security checkpoint. You can also bring hand sanitizer, but it has to be in a container of at least 3.4 ounces.

While it's generally forbidden to carry on sharp objects, you can check them into your checked luggage. Other prohibited items include firearms, ammunition, and tools. Safety razors and straight razors are also not allowed. Most tools can be a safety hazard, so it's best to check them with other luggage if you're traveling with them.

Whether or not you can bring alcohol onto an airplane depends on your preference and whether or not it's a necessity. If you're carrying liquor, you can bring it on board as long as you have a receipt. Otherwise, you must request a new bag if you need to connect with another flight.
