Wedding Table Plans Versus Escort Cards - What Should You Choose For Your Wedding Day?

It's getting closer to your wedding day and you are starting to look at table plans. You also see something a little different, the escort card. But what is right for you?

The price advantage of table plans is the most apparent at larger weddings. 200 escort cards will be significantly more expensive than a plan. The other advantage is that the plan can be placed out at the reception unattended for your guests to check. Whereas with escort cards someone will need to hand one out to each guest.

The disadvantage with a table plan is the inability to change it once it is printed. Therefore if there are any last minute changes or guests can't attend then it can be expensive to modify.

If you think that events are likely to change then escort cards are the way to go. These can be amended without too much fuss. For example, if you need to alter where someone is sitting you only need to alter one or maybe two cards, rather than the whole lot.

For smaller weddings escort cards will most likely work out cheaper. They can also add a more personal touch. You might want to include extra information such as menu options and the days events with them. They can effectively double up as an order of the day if required.

Before printing your plan or cards remember to check for any missing RSVPs. Contact any guests that haven't responded to ensure that you get the correct guest numbers. When planning the seating try to put guests together that you know get along with each other.

Don't forget, with both options you will also need place cards and possibly table numbers to go with them. Alternatively table numbers can be replaced with table names that match the theme of your wedding.
