All Pop Cap's games are just perfect. Easy to learn, "plug & play" but, with increasing difficulty and clear instructions before every new thing to learn. Intense rythm, you are always clicking the mouse, no time to rest. Original, they can be based on anything else but they do their own way and with outstanding imagination. The right difficulty at the right time, to maintain the interest. Variated play modes. Ridiculous simple controls, usually just the mouse and their two buttons, some times the arrows pad is also neeced but, that's all. Very good music and sound effects....
Well, if you already played Zuma, you know what I mean but, they have other interesting titles and this is one of them.
Highly recommeded for casual tmes, when you are in a hurry and want to play just a bit or, for that "in between big games" time.
ONE OF THE WEAKESTS BUT, ENSSURED PLAYABILITY. I remember learning to type with Mavis Beacon or Mavis Bacon as I liked to call her when I was an edgy kid.

Wish I had typer shark to learn to type. It is more game than typing tutor but manages to achieve the same thing.. Before Popcap games became famous for making great games like Peggle and Plants vs Zombies, they also made a bunch of crappier games. One of those is Typer Shark.

In Typer Shark you play as a deep sea diver that for some reason is just...so goddamn delicious that whenever you gets in the water you're immediately swarmed by sharks. They swim across the screen towards you, and you have to type the words that appear on each shark to kill it.

So, basically, it's a typing game. There's a bit of variance, since there are different kinds of sharks that behave differently. Toxic sharks have their letter rearranged after a few seconds, Hammerhead sharks need you to spell two words to kill them, etc. Also there are bosses that fire missiles and cannonballs at you. You don't get much time to spell the words on those missiles. So it's not just testing your typing skill, it's testing your typing under pressure.

But yeah, that's about it. The graphics make this look like some of those cheap edutainment games you might see in the bargain bin at Harvey Norman for five bucks. Co-incidentally this game is five bucks on steam...Okay, yeah, I guess this really is one of those edutainment games. But I like typing games! It's a good way to improve my skill.

Oh, also, one problem with this game is that it doesn't close properly after you exit it, and you have to go into Task Manager to make the game end properly. So that's a pain.

Okay, so I give this game a 2.5/5 stars. It's pretty lame, but the gameplay is solid enough. If you're into typing games, well, I'd probably still recommend other games first. But if you want a typing game and you only have five bucks, this'll get the job done.. I have reccomended a few mouse contol games but this game did me a lot of good, it may be a 'kids game' but actually knowing where my keys are on my key board helps a lot with most other games or even genral typing. this was a game i didnt think i would like but i am so glad that i did use it.as a novice to PC typing or playing games even rembering how to use AWSD was a nightmare for me when i first swtiched from
but type shark really did help. youtube videos refer to this game as stupid or not needed.
but for me i have to say it helped a lot and would reccomend for anybody who needs help to learn where keys are or want to improve there typing speed.. This game helped me achieve 110 wpm.
If you have a fear of sharks your improvement is sped up by 80%. It still runs even after being closed out... However, it's not a bad game; just needs to be fixed up.... I've played twice.. Simple and a fun way to learn typing.. I like this game a lot it is helping me to be able to improve my accuracy in typing the only thing i have an issue with is with not being able to make the window any bigger when i am not in Full Screen mode.. I would love to give this game a positive review, but because it is an older game, and you cannot save your progress, I have to give it a negative
