The title refers to criminal Rafael Delgado, an expert diamond thief. He's involved with a band of criminals, who dress in British style (bowler hats and umbrellas) but who speak Italian. It's implied they are Mafia types trying to pass themselves off as British. Delgado, even while in prison, has pulled off a stunning robbery with the help of the gang. So many diamonds are missing it could affect the world's economy.

This is the 54th episode of 1964 to 1968 spy series, THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. The series ran for a total of 105 episodes. The first season was filmed in black and with the remainder shot in colour. Robert Vaughn plays agent Napoleon Solo while David McCallum, plays Illya Kuryakin, Leo G Carroll plays Mister Waverly, the boss of the secret agency known as U.N.C.L.E. UNCLE agents Robert Vaughn and David McCallum get mixed up with a bunch of diamond thieves. The gang, led by Ricardo Montalban, have hit a major storeroom for over a billion in stones. So many if fact, that they could cause a worldwide panic if they flooded the market. Montalban though seems to have a perfect alibi. He was in jail in London.
