A great visual experience with strong tone and atmosphere. Feels a little rough around the edges at parts, and the gameplay (controls, puzzles, and chase sequences) leaves a bit to be desired however I don't think that's really what you play this for. I would recommend this game on the strength of the setting and aesthetic. Just wanting to know what's aorund the corner kept me going through to the end.. No gameplay at all, huge level with nothing in it. It is a walking simulator for 16.99$ and not even 2 hours of gameplay.. such a shity short game and good thing its short since its suchrefunded. I met the team at PAX East in Boston great group of people and it shows in how much team work went in to this game. This game is a breath ofd fresh air in a world thats gecoing stedfast with clones and remakes. To all the team at Playmind Thank You, Loved the game when I played the demo and now that I have it I cant wait to playthrough the whole game. P.S.. The Inner Friend, as the description of the game says, is a game in which you have to help someone deal with their childhood traumas and make peace with his mind. Like games such as journey, this game does not offer a lot of hours. I took about 2 hours to finish this game (and keep in mind its price). In short: The gameplay is simple but effective. It doesn't need to serve much more than to progress the story. You mainly have to walk, jump, and solve puzzles. The environment is interesting, the soundtrack is solid, and the story is great. Games like these, in my view, offer more than a regular game does. Its goal isn't to entertain you for a long period of time. Games like these teach you many life lessons and while the in-game hours may be long, the topics the game deals with will be more memorable to you in the future, effectively increasing the time with which you dealt with the game unlike some games which only remain relevant for as long as you play it. 15 bucks (if it's not on a sale) for 2-3 hours is still something to keep in mind. I recommend waiting for a sale. Again: Games like these are more of an experience rather than pure entertainment. You can definitely spend a couple extra bucks for something like that.. I absolutely loved this game, don't get me wrong it isn't very long with 1.5 hours of play time but it was a beautifully done game! Its story tells us about someone facing their fears that stem from when they were younger. Something I personally would love the chance to do because they would be a lot more messed up than this game gets! It is definitely is more of a puzzle game than horror but it has a great sense of the perspective of us as children VS. that of us as adults. You play as your inner friend who helps you overcome the fears and memories that plagued you as a child, through solving puzzles and finding your way around obstacles you defeat your nightmarish foe's to finally overcome them. I got this game for 80% off so it was worthwhile for me but it is definitely not worth its full price. Wait to pick it up on sale or enjoy my 1.5 hour playthrough below. An very interesting Scary Indie puzzle game. Totally dif type of games which i've never experianced before. The sound effect is very cool and amazing grafic. You must give it a try.
