The history and future of the ISO 9000 series of standard

ISO 9000 is defined as a set of international standards on quality management and quality assurance. They are not responsible for the quality of the system they are using.

ISO 9000 history: ISO 9000: 2000, 2008, and 2015

ISO 9000 was published in 1987 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is a specialized international body for the standardization of more than 160 countries. The standards underwent major amendments in 2000 and 2008. Recent versions of ISO 9001 certification in Hyderabad  standard is in 2015.

ISO 9000: 2000 goals

The ISO 9000: 2000 revision had five goals:

ISO 9000: 2000 was again updated in 2008 and 2015. ISO 9000: 2015 is the most current version.

The ISO 9000: 2015 and ISO 9001: 2015 standards are having seven quality management principles that can apply to build up an organizational improvement:

The ISO 9000 series of standards is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2017

First published in March 1987, ISO 9001: Quality management systems - Requirements has become the most successful standard in the history of the International Organization for Standardization.
