Two friends, ex Shaolin monks, part ways as they brush with the ongoing rebellion against the government. The ambitious one rises up to be a powerful military commander, while his betrayed friend resorts to learn the calm ways of Tai Chi.
Jet Li plays Junbao, a child that grows up as a monk in a Shaolin temple along with his friend Tianbao. During a friendly competition, they are both expelled during a vicious fight when another competitor cheated by using a weapon. They wander China and during a performance, Junbao and Tianbao go their separate ways, Tianbao joining the military, and Junbao joining the rebels opposing the government. Tianbao, hungry for power and wealth, sets-up and betrays his lifelong friend, Junbao, in an ambush to attain the rank of general. Junbao, stricken with grief and disbelief, turns to Tai Chi to help. The climactic finale pits Tianbao against Junbao in a martial arts battle that rages throughout a military encampment while an army of thousands look on.
first thing's first.. tai chi master i can accept that as it's title.. but twin warriors?? help me with this.. whose jet's twin warrior? is it his childhood friend or the ever beautiful miss yeoh? when you look at the poster's you'll assume that it's michelle.. which i don't really think so.. though her fight scenes were one of the must see in the movie (check her in that restaurant scene,, *sigh* beautiful indeed and the later part she;s just amazing..) for me they should have stick to the Chinese title. anyways,, one of my fave..

i was hoping though a somewhat romantic involvement between michelle and jet.. ughh it never came.. still A MUST SEE MOVIE..

9/10 "Twin Warriors" is one of the best martial arts films I have seen, there are at least 20 different fight scenes all of them spectacular. Jet Li does a good job of acting here, he isn't as serious as he usually is, Michelle Yeoh who proved she could kick ass in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" shows her skills here as well. The action scenes for the most part are believeable, a few of them go over the top but other than that I was totally into them, if you're looking for pure martial arts action with a decent story and acting, give Twin Warriors a look.

This minor classic from Jet Li's pre-Hollywood era (directed by Yuen Woo-Ping and also starring Michelle Khan) was - as happened with many HK movies - cut, redubbed and equipped with a new score for the US release (repsonsible this time: Dimension Films). At least there is not as much missing as is the case with other movies, besides one violence cut it is mostly the typical HK humor that was removed. Luckily, in 2008 Dragon Dinasty and Bey Logan released the uncut version on DVD and Blu-Ray in the US. Approx. three minutes are missing in the old US Version.

Also, there's a Taiwanese release where a fight scene is missing. It could be either due to editing errors or a deliberate removal because it is a fighting technique referring to Buddha that could have been perceived as critical in Taiwan. malayalam movie download Hometown Heroes
