What a delightful little game. Simple idea with simple graphics but a wonderful heart. Go out explore a small but growing universe, find friends, make enemies, gather resources and solve puzzles. Dont get this expecting the dev to lead you by the nose to the solutions, this is an old school RPG you are expected to figure it out yourself Invest in a pad and a writing implement of your choice, you will be working things out and taking notes. Definitely worth the price even at this early EA stage.. Relaxing, funny 2d space exploration game. Instant classic. Has everything it should have and there is not a one thing done wrong. As one of the reviews says, this is a collection of perfect design decisions. Inspiring and pure. Visuals are pretty breathtaking for a game of this type and (I suppose) tight budget.. All I have to say is, WOW! This is a fantastic space exploration / real time space battle game! I really can't wait to see what more this game will have in it, once it reaches v1.0. I grew up in the 80's and my first real space exploration game was star control and star control 2. Though, those didn't come out until 1991 and then 1992. These ran on a 486 DX 66, if anyone can remember those computers, lol. Though the graphics of these games, weren't anything, compared to todays standards, they were easy to play and kept me mezmorized in the fact that, I was in space meeting new races and collecting valuable resources to upgrade. SC1 (the original) didn't have that, but you hopefully get the point. This game brought me back 28 years and made me feel 14 years old again. Kudos to all the people that worked on this game. Its easy to play and there is a lot to explore. The upgrade/crafting of the ships is amazing as well. After I purchased this game, I couldn't put it down for over 4 hours straight. I highly recommend purchasing this game for the price. Its only 17-18 bucks and its only on v0.1 something. But there is so much you can do already and there is a quite a bit of content. I've gushed enough, but this is a gem that I'm glad I fell into.. The early access content looks already quite voluminous, i've only scratched the surface. Texts and dialogues are well written, there's some obvious love of SF literature. Game runs very well and controls are fine even with KB+Mouse. There's going to be a lot to explore, a lot of combat to be had.. I was amused when I found a desert world where the locals worship giant worms .. Very nice little game, easy to play. Almost everything in it: mining, exploration, ship design, trading . Have a future.. A really immersive space ship RPG. Great scenery, researching and ship building is fun and the game does a great job of giving a sense of adventure. However, the currently available content is still somewhat short and will leave you wanting for more. Also, there are not many different battle strategies yet due to lack of weapon variety. There are plasma bolts, rockets and big scary lasers. Combat is also not enough of a challenge because you can easily outrun all enemies. But I don't regret buying this game already and I'm looking forward to its finished state.

Closed Beta Round Two: Looking Good! : A couple weeks ago the second closed Beta invite went out to a few dozen mailing list subscribers. If you didn't get one, there will definitely be at least one more round of closed betas before Early Access, probably more. If you'd like to be included on mailing updates and potentially be included in future betas, you can sign up on the website. The next round of closed betas will start in about two weeks: Based on tester's feedback, I feel confident that the game will enter Early Access before the end of the year. While there are some bugs and quality of life feature requests (it is a Beta), most players reported really enjoying the experience. The data suggests they weren't just being polite: almost 90% of the playtesters who installed the game played for at least an hour and almost 90% of those played nearly all of the main story content currently available (roughly 3 hours as of that build). In other news: The game now has a Discord channel where you'll find me most days: First pre-release curator review from Space Game Junkie: If you love space exploration akin to Starflight or The Long Journey Home, but without the tedious rover stuff, you'll LOVE Starcom: Nexus. It's fantastic with exploration, discovery and its writing. Given how much I loved Starflight, that made me really happy. The game still has a ways to go before it's complete. As the playtesters have seen, this is a very content-rich game and it will need a lot more content before it is done. One the main reasons for Early Access: I have a vision for the overall story of Starcom:Nexus, but I want your help filling in the details and the path that takes you to the end.. Starcom:Nexus Beta Key Giveaway: SciFi Trivia Contest : Round 3 of the closed Betas has gone really well. Starcom:Nexus is still on track for Early Access release later this quarter. If you didn't get a Beta 3 invite, there will still be at least one more round. But we thought it'd be fun to do a SciFi Trivia give away for a few keys. This will happen on our Discord this coming Sunday, October 7th, at 8pm EST.
