Walter Weed is an unassuming desk jockey at the FBI when the Bureau uncovers a plot to assassinate him. A team of degenerate, psychotic assassins dispatched by mystery man Hal Leuco to win a huge bounty includes a resourceful beauty who has a unique method of killing her prey, a power-tool wielding psychopath and a deadly master of disguise.
This movie really had some potential. They had actors that have been known to be very decent. But this script was absolute garbage, the quips and humor was dull and stupid, and the protagonist of the film is stale and not very believable. At the end of this movie I found myself wondering what the point of this was. Don't get me wrong, I'm an action junkie and I enjoy intentionally stereotypical, over the top, comic bookish characters, but these were terrible. The only two assassins you get interested in are killed off in the blink of an eye leaving the stupidest ones left to finish the movie. One group of assassins is a clan of biker/redneck… people. Their clothing looks so new I cant take them seriously. They end up stealing a circus trailer so they can use the cannon to launch live clowns strapped with dynamite into a building. It almost sounds funny but it's shot horrendously. Which leads me to my next point. Don't use explosions if you can't do them right. These were the worst effects I've seen in a long time. There were unnecessary scenes where you could tell they used a green screen; many of them were used while the redneck clan was driving around. This was just all around disappointing. Which is a shame because the locations, lighting, and choreography for some of these shootouts were absolutely gorgeous! That is the only thing keeping me from giving this movie 1 star.
I don't ask much from my action flicks. Good action, decent effects, but mostly a world that maintains consistency. In Crank, it was over the top craziness, but the movie world was set up that way, so you went with it. In this movie, you have ridiculous breakdowns in motivation and the stale 'It's the government' plot. I'm not sure I've ever met any paid assassins so I can't say for sure, but I'd bet quite a bit that during a hit, they wouldn't form an instant love affair after knowing each other for 10 minutes. They also wouldn't charge blindly into a firefight. I think this movie wins the award for most bullets fired in a confined space without hitting a target. The writers needed to fit pieces together so they had characters act contrary to what they're developed as, the hallmark of a truly bad writer. ie, she's a hitwoman, but we need her dead so she'll charge into a firefight. He's a hit-man but we need him dead, so he'll run into a group of 3 heavily armed people after they killed the woman he met an hour ago. I mean really, if the govt hired these people (the Tremors? Really? The govt hired the Tremors?), do you think they'd need to set something up to kill them all (and why would they hire people when we have special ops specifically trained for this sort of thing)? The ending was epic in it's awfulness, both in the total failure of logic (bomb goes off at 3AM but I'll wait around until light before I split), and in the actions of the main character (who was magically transported to the right place at the right time). Even with my brain in action movie mode, this insults my intelligence. Watch the Transporter or any Guy Ritchie movie, you'll be far more entertained.

This film was supposed to be mainly about the Three Tremor Brothers, who are Darwin, Lester and Jeeves, yet only one has yet confirmed there return, who is Maury Sterling reprising his role as Lester Tremor. Nothing official has been confirmed by Chris Pine. But Kevin Durand who played Jeeves, has already passed on it. On Janurary 13th, a casting call sheet was posted on spoiler websites containing information that only Jeeves and Lester will have a cameo and they will be led by their sister named AK-47, played by Autumn Reeser. Another Tremor family member, supposedly named "Papa Tremor," will be played by Michael Parks. Although in fact this may make no sense because the Tremors history involves the phrase, "Same Skank mom, different deadbeat dad," which would hold true to the characters not knowing who any of their fathers were. First of all the Unrated Version runs approx. 140 seconds longer than the R-Rated version. These new scenes feature more violence and sex making it a logical Unrated version.
