While investigating a call in an abandoned house, Officer Frank Williams and a rookie find a woman brutally blinded, but they are attacked by a huge psychopath with an ax; the rookie is killed and Frank shoots the criminal in the head, but has a severed arm. Four years later, the mutilated Frank is relocated, working as a guard in the County Detention Center. Frank goes with some delinquents to the Blackwell Hotel, an abandoned place since a fire burnt the last two floors, with the purpose of cleaning the location, preparing it to work as a shelter for the homeless; in return, the criminals will have their sentences reduced. During the night, the inmate Kira who has some Christian tattoos on her body is kidnapped by the deranged serial-killer Kane who collects the eyes of his victims, while the rest of the group is attacked by the psychopath with his ax.
A group of delinquents are sent to clean the Blackwell Hotel. Little do they know reclusive psychopath Jacob Goodnight has holed away in the rotting hotel. When one of the teens is captured, those who remain - a group that includes the cop who put a bullet in Goodnight's head four years ago - band together to survive against the brutal killer.
Man, this was a dark horror...Full of scenes with gore and violent murders...A group of cons, both men and women go to help redecorate a hotel, being promised a month off from their punishment...But in here lives a serial killer, Jason Goodnight, portrayed brilliantly by Kane...I really think that it wasn't very hard for Kane to do this role...As a WWE fan, I've seen him and he acts as a twisted guy there too...The strong point of this movie, were, i think, the scenes of this films that are very creepy, even for a horror...There are some that even i found to strong...The weak point of this movie is i think the story...it has major flaws...I found this movie as a convincing horror,because i enjoyed it from the point of view that it wasn't so bad a movie...it convinced me and it wasn't like some films that make one sorry to watch...on the contrary, it was very unpredictable.

First off, if you are expecting anything other than a generic stalk and slash movie, you're not going to get it here. But if you want a fun movie, with some inventive kills and a neat villain, you're not going to get that either.

What you get is a basic rehash of Friday the thirteenth, albeit without the mothers revenge part, and a villain you feel very little sympathy for, and come to think of it, anyone you feel sympathy for......maybe the rat in a couple of scenes.

The characters are a who's who of stereotypes, and you can more or less guess which ones will die, and which ones will survive.

It has a very basic feel to it. It's not scary enough to be proper horror, nor is it over the top enough to be exploitation.

It just happens, and then finishes, without really doing anything to entertain.

Boring really. Generic teen dice-and-slice with interior design by way of ''Saw." The movie's tight and reasonably well shot, though, and there are flashes of nasty invention between the ritual guttings.
