After discovering their parents are super-villains in disguise, a group of teenagers band together to run away from their homes in order to atone for their parents' actions and to discover the secrets of their origins.
Follows a group of six teenagers in the Marvel universe - Nico Minoru, Karolina Dean, Molly Hernandez, Chase Stein, Alex Wilder, and Gertrude Yorkes - who discover that their parents are secretly members of a super-villain cabal called The Pride. After deciding they're no longer safe in their own homes, the kids go on the run. In the midst of hiding from their elders, the teens learn about themselves and become a family of their own.
This is really great show, it has a strong story line, great acting and a amazing cinematography. I am really surprised with those who hate it. I have noticed a lot people who talk about this negatively are fans of comic books and as per usual get upset when they don't get the exact same story as the comic books. I don't think they understand that a lot things need to change adapting a comic into a TV show, and things that work well on paper, do not always translate well into TV. So things change and they have focus on very formula and break down that fits into 10 episodes and has a beginning, middle and end for each of those ten episodes.

The beauty of this show is its pace, some claim its boring, but in truth its just slow paced and those who have patience and bit of intelligence understand that the pacing is important to way they telling the story. There is amazing amount of talent on this show and a lot hard work going on behind the scenes. This clearly much better written than agents of shield, much much better actors and story line and not at in the same vein of agent of shields lack luster and unintelligent plot. Its clear this story line is written for a more mature audience who can appreciate the style of story telling. This simple is marvel at its finest on TV,

Lyrica Okano who plays Nico stands out as amazing actress and blows anything that other marvel shows actors or actresses have out of the water. Yes it has bit of Gossip girl and Buffy the Vampire slayer feel to it, but its refreshing to see characters with depth who you will grown to love. It might not be for everyone, but if your one of the lucky ones who enjoys this you will be in for an amazing ride. Quiet simply put, It has substance, style and depth of story that nothing else TV ,Marvel has to offer. When it comes to marvel studios I will pretty much watch anything they make so I have now watched the runaways and this was just a pretty bland nothing show. The premise of the show sees a group of teenagers find out a secret about their parents and look to investigate further. Now the main characters are these unknown teen actors and the acting and their characters are very mixed amongst all of them. They all have good moments as a cast that at times allows you to buy into their situation. But there is also times of bad cheesy acting that comes across as the work of inexperienced performers. The more interesting characters were that of the parents who for the most part deliver strong performances even though I do question some of their character traits as the season progresses. Also credit to Julian mcmahon who does a good job in his role when on screen. The story of this show is relatively interesting as you see these kids investigating their shady parents who you realise are more layered then the show sometimes gives them credit for. However, this season of this show has absolutely no pay off and it just feels like a big setup for when there is a season 2 where they will deliver on all the promises made this season. The script has some decent dramatic exchanges that really delivers the hostility very well, but as mentioned some of it comes across as overly cheesy and very drab especially when in the humour department. The style of the show has some decent effects in it and I felt like especially in the 2nd half of the show they left the school drama behind which I appreciated. But there was also some bad CGI at times, and I feel like this show could really have done with a few more episodes to deliver a satisfying first season. Overall this is an average show that if you're a big marvel fan you might enjoy otherwise it isn't really worth your time.

The much anticipated film adaptation of Marvel Comics 'Runaways' is now in the pre-production stages and auditions for the project's stars is underway. The casting directors are currently conducting a national online open casting call for boys and girls to star in the film.
