There are so many types of writing paper that one often finds a need for a lined paper style that is not on hand or readily available. There are common types of ruled paper that we generally have on hand but when dealing with young children, their writing needs change quickly and often. It doesn't stop with the lower grades though as students move into higher grades and into a larger variety of topics such as math and science, the style requirements change but that doesn't reduce the need for multiple types of paper on an ongoing basis. With there being different types of lined papers for students in each grade as well as differences in the styles of paper needed for their daily activities, it's almost impossible to have what one needs for writing and homework assignments always on hand. The solution, Printable Writing Paper is available on the internet that can be printed at your convenience and it's free.

It seems that it should be easy to have what your child or student needs on hand in the form of writing paper, but it doesn't seem to work out that way. In the early grades, a student will require several types of paper for their assignments on hand at all times. Some of these styles of paper are very specific to the task at hand. For instance in Kindergarten one would regularly need two or more styles of paper. Students will need the standard Kindergarten primary writing paper along with Picture Story Writing paper also known as Story Time paper for many of their writing assignments.

Parents of young children and anyone who has been away from the early grades will be amazed at the variety of types and styles of paper that are regularly used for writing assignments. For instance, Picture Story writing assignments may require the paper to be in a long or short version according to the context of the assignment. While suppliers usually have at least one of these styles, they often don't carry both and they are likely to limit their inventory to one or two grades. That tends to limit what is readily available for parents and teachers. This is especially stressful when supplies are low in a classroom or a parent doesn't have one of these styles on hand and an assignment is coming due.

As the school year proceeds, there are often changes to writing assignment requirements. In the early grades students may progress from one writing level to another in their writing assignments during the school year. This may require additional styles of ruled paper since the progression in writing skill may entail utilizing the next smaller paper grid, such as moving from a paper with a one inch line spacing to a paper with a 7/8 or 3/4 inch line spacing. In some cases the change may also involve moving from a long style writing grid to a short style. This usually happens with second or third grade writing assignments, but could also become a factor with composition assignments in earlier grades.

As students advance through the grades, their writing paper needs will change, but their requirements for multiple types of paper seem to never end. Once a student advances to middle or high school it would seem that a student would only need one style of paper but that's not the case. While instructors and teachers may not require some of a student's work to be on a particular type of ruled paper, some of their assignments will still require more than one style. Since we mostly think of writing paper for writing we are usually prepared for that primary usage and have plenty of standard or college ruled paper on hand but what about their math homework?

Is college ruled notebook paper appropriate for algebra assignments? Not likely since there are a lot of fractions in the solutions of this type of math problems. While math teachers are unlikely to require a particular style paper, most of this type work will likely be much neater and more readable on a wider ruled paper. And since a student's work will be more readable if not scrunched into such a narrow space, the student will likely make fewer mistakes, and fewer mistakes mean better grades. This is another instance of the need for multiple styles of paper, one for regular writing and one for math.

Changes in assignments, progression of the school year and advancements in writing competency add to the difficulty in keeping a supply of all of the correct styles of paper on an ongoing basis. The solution to this problem is to print your own writing paper as you need it. It's available on the internet and it's much less expensive to print your own lined paper than to keep a supply of all of the different styles that one needs through a school year. All you need is blank paper in your printer and a web provider that has a comprehensive inventory of Printable Writing Paper.
