A team of teenagers with attitude are recruited to save Angel Grove from the evil witch, Rita Repulsa, and later, Lord Zedd, Emperor of all he sees, and their horde of monsters.
Four athletically able teenagers along with their brainy friend Billy are selected by Zordon to fight the evil of Rita Repulsa, her monsters and her minions after the witch is accidentally released from imprisonment in an intergalactic dumpster on the moon. Later in the series, the rangers are joined by Tommy, the once evil Green Ranger designed for Rita's evil, but later was deprogrammed and spent two portions of the series briefly as the Green Ranger. Over time, some rangers had to pass their powers to others as well. Action scenes and scenes with Rita were edited from footage based on Japanese action sagas. Replacement villain Lord Zedd was designed in the U.S.
Simply the Best Series of Power rangers there has ever been or ever will be! the original rangers where something new that kids had not seen before. Jason, Zack, Billy, Trini and Kimberly, 5 regular humans morph into the amazing power rangers to save the world from the likes of the evil Rita Repulsa and her Henchman. With the help of their power weapons and their zords the rangers stopped rita every time until she unleashed the power of the evil green ranger which was given to Tommy. Tommy is seen by many fans as the Legendary ranger because he has been a power rangers longer than anyone and has been in more incarnations of the rangers than anyone, but The green power ranger was his first and in this reviewers opinion and in the opinion of millions of power ranger fans, the best power ranger of all. After turning good the green ranger joined the other five heroes to help stop Rita. This season is the most exciting, entertaining and original of them all and coined some of the sayings used in power rangers for generations to come.

There is NOTHING like the original! I watched this show avidly growing up in the 90's...And this was the original that created a phenomenon, a kids morning show with proper action, fight scenes that gave the bored kids on weekends an adrenaline boost which lasted the whole week...

5 teenagers are given great powers to fight the evil forces with their amazing kung-fu powers. Looking back..Yes, the dialogue was weak..yes the acting was weak, as well as the writing..But the martial arts were top notch and the monsters were fantastic... As the show progressed it got better but everything that has a beginning has an end...The show lost it's momentum around the 'Turbo' series...and sadly has been going on with little juice since...

I adored the moment the monster became gigantic..Because I always knew the 'Zords' were on their way! Looking back it's a little odd how Tommy...back when he was the Green Ranger, managed to get Godzilla as his zord?

Take it for what it is! A kids show...a great kids show!
