I'll admit I haven't seen it yet. Going to see it this weekend. I really enjoyed the books and even the B movies starring Kirk Cameron.I am a Christian and I love thriller movies so before it came out I had really high hopes. After all the poor reviews, I hope I am not disappointed when I go to see it. Why was there so little marketing for this movie? It almost seems like someone was trying to make sure this movie wasn't a hit. I don't get it. Also explain to me why this is only in 1800 theaters. Were the creators of this movie and the production company not able to get a distribution partner? There have been plenty of low budget movies with only a half decent plot and acting that have been successful. I do not see why this cannot be one of them. It has a great message.
I read all of the negative reviews and had pretty much decided not to watch this movie. I'm glad I let my son talk me into renting this. I've read the left behind series and from what I remember this follows the first book pretty closely. I was very surprised w/ this movie, and honestly not sure why it got such bad reviews? My 3 boys (12, 9, & 6) and I watched this and had a great conversation after the movie about God. I watched the first left behind movie, and that was cheesy, I wanted it to be good but it was so cheesy it was almost hard to watch! I kept waiting for this to get cheesy and other than a couple of times, this was honestly good! My kids said "We should buy this movie." If you aren't a Christian than you might find the subject matter uncomfortable, but you should still see it! This movie makes you think. I hate that this movie got such bad reviews because I would love to have seen more in the series w/ these actors.
The Rapture won’t come soon enough for the unfortunate souls forced to suffer through Left Behind.
