About This Game



Knights of The Drowned Table is a fully immersive Virtual Reality game with an emphasis on humor. Players will be transported into a fantasy tavern, where they will encounter the local bar flies. Bring them a drink and they will tell you a tale. As they narrate their outrageous adventures, you and your friends will relive them through your own eyes. Players can chose to play solo or co-op in the story mode, or duke it out in PvP.

By offering unique stories, levels, and a sense of humor all its own, Knights of the Drowned Table is a refreshing take on the genre. Join your friends as you relive outlandish tales told by the locals of the tavern. Begin your journey by bringing local patrons at the tavern a drink and relive their epic tales!

Choose to fight your way to glory in player verse player battles, or perhaps you’d rather conquer large and legendary beasts with your friends. There is no doubt the multiple game modes and unique hand-crafted levels will keep you coming back for more.





SteamVR and Oculus Rift Supported
Regardless of the virtual reality headset you own, you'll be able to play! Knights of the Drowned Table supports both SteamVR and Oculus Rift. Even better, you can also play with your friends from either platform!

Realtime Head and Hand Tracking
Knights of the Drowned Table requires the player to interact with the world. To pick up a weapon, you'll need to reach out and pick it up with your hands! Need to avoid an incoming fireball? Duck!

Engaging Combat
Hack and slash swords and maces to physically beat down your opponent. Take cover and unleash a volley of arrows to quickly dispatch your enemies. Cast mind-shattering spells to incinerate your adversaries. You face your foes YOUR way.

Unique Voice Acting
Every level is brought to life by its own narrator. Relive every moment as the drunken patrons tell you a tall tale! Each level is different, and multiple patrons have a unique and hilarious story to tell.

Hand-Crafted Environments
Each level is hand-crafted from start to finish by our art team. Experience engaging visuals as you explore arid deserts, snow covered peaks, lush forests, terrifying dungeons, and more.



Single Player and 5 Player Co-Op Story
Knights of the Drowned Table is designed so that each story can be played with anywhere from one to five players. Each level scales in difficulty to match the number of players.

Competitive PvP for up to 10 Players
Knights of the Drowned Table lets you chase fame, glory, and most importantly bragging rights by participating in Player vs Player combat. Multiple game modes will be available, including Free-For-All, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Battle Royale.



Varying Mechanics
Every level requires new and different mechanics to complete. While searching through the dunes, you'll need to complete a ritual to summon a powerful demon. Scaling the snowy peaks requires you to find warmth to fend off the cold. Unique challenges await in every level.

Menacing Enemies
Encounter hand crafted enemies in each level. Bug Dogs will rapidly swarm the player, while Sand Wurms will wait in the earth to attack. Every enemy acts differently and requires and different strategy to defeat. b4d347fde0

Abandonware.. I believe this has some great potential in the future with proper animations and proper combat system. Maybe my expectations were set too high after playing VR Dungeon Knight, but heres my $0.02. I realize this is a brand new release into early access.

Pros:
+I really like the physics in the game.
+I really, really, really liked the movement system in the game. I'm one of the few people who doesn't get motion sick at all, so being able to move around freely like a normal game is wonderful.
+I love the textures and the way the lobby area works. (Wish there was a list of weapons and stuff to mess around with)
+Voice acting is neat.

Cons:
-The way weapons are handled - You basically have to point at stuff to be properly holding your weapon, it doesn't feel intuitive at all.
-No actual threat of dying as far as I could tell.
-3 enemies along with plenty of locked doors with no apparent way in.
-Only a few weapons.
-There didn't feel like an actual combat system; there's no parrying or timing your swings or trying. You can literally put the tip of your weapon in an enemy and move back and forth lightly and instakill anything.
-Bows are extremely weak due to how you can fight with melee.
-Quivers being \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665 and not rotating with you in real life, only when you rotate with controller. (I realize you can have one or the other, but I'd rather it rotate with both, personally.)
-I'm assuming there will be upgraded weapons and stuff later but right now its a bit lackluster.

Maybe later when its more fleshed out, but right now I do not think it is worth $15.. It's very early Alpha but I like the concept. The voice acting isn't half bad the levels and enemies need work but again it's super early on for this title and I'm glad to see true independant devs at work. I've spent more on worse that's for damn sure. So I'm going to keep the game and watch how it goes. The gaming world could use a good "Leap of Faith" project and no better place than VR to do it. So unfortunately the developer didn't come through with the giveaway link. I was told he would have 50 keys that he was going to give away and that he'd give me a link before I released the video. I've held off releasing this for a few days and still nothing. That doesn't bode well... Though he did pop into Discord today to say he'd uploaded a patch to the game.

Especially with the state of this game. I picked it up during the Steam Winter Sale.

The good:

I like the ideas here. I like the level select tavern where you're buying an adventurer a beer and he\/she's telling you their story.

I liked the voice acting. Some of it felt a bit rushed and off but in general I liked the direction it was going.

Classless system. Pick up whatever and go to town.

The bad:

Oh boy... I don't enjoy ripping into someones baby but there's a lot here that makes this game not ready even for EA.

Weapon angles are severely off. Break your wrist, off.

The sound effects for killing the worms sound like a bomb went off in your headset.

Weapon balance is pretty bad. Some melee weapons do very little damage while others are essentially one hit kill weapons. My guess is that they're bugged and doing more damage than intended. Other weapons like the bow do virtually no damage what so ever.

I never found the 'Magic' weapon that was promised.

Bow mechanics are one handed aiming while the second hand does absolutely nothing but pull and release. No two handed aiming.

Hands had collides making grabbing weapons difficult.

Headlook orientation though that could be a plus or a minus depending on your outlook. It does help while fighting to not worry about pointing your controller the wrong direction.

Boss fights with no indicators that you're doing any damage to it that take an excessive amount of time to take down.

Inconsistent art assets that detracted from immersion.
