A documentary feature film that follows Darien EMS-Post 53, the only ambulance service for the town of Darien, CT. This organization covers one of the deadliest stretches of highway off of I-95 and is rated one of the top in the nation-volunteer or paid-and it's run and operated by high school students. Shot over the course of a year with an exclusive and intimate lens into a 40 year old organization that was a part of the birth of emergency medical service, High School 911 takes you on an epic journey with unlikely heroes: Teenagers. It begs the question: What are teenagers actually capable of when given the opportunity by the adults in their lives?
Experience a heart-stopping, inspirational year with Darien EMS-Post 53, the only ambulance service for the 20,000 residents of Darien, Connecticut, as it covers one of the deadliest stretches of Interstate-95, responds to over 1,500 emergency calls, and is run by high school teenagers.
Our PTO recently hosted a screening of High School 911. Our audience ranged from age 10-80 years old. Not a dry eye in the meeting. This film is inspiring,motivating,empowering and provoking. As a school, we are now creating situations where our children can be empowered and make a difference in our school and community. This is a wonderful screening for a PTO/PTA meeting. An inspiring documentary about the power of the teen. This films give compelling evidence that we underestimate our teenagers. My 16-year was inspired and motived to live up to a higher standard after watching High School 9-1-1. Thanks Tim Warren for a great movie!
