Great Hero's Beard has a very satisfying progression system. Almost everything you do in game makes your character-Turgut evolve & progress further in the world.

Very fast and fun automated combat where everything depends on your items, stats and skill chances!
Build your character with stat points, randomized items & through the skill tree choices.
After you're done with the junk items send them to the fusion system, which in return will spit out items, stat points & skill points to further help you in your journey.
And don't let your eyes off the main goal- to rescue all kidnapped princesses from each of the world & bring them back to you camp.
When you finally feel like you're burned out, you can go ahead and retire. This will reset you back to level1 but in return give you permanent XP boost, stat & skill points.

Mhm, i realy had my doubt about this one, thought the price Tag was just for show.
I was pleasantly suprised by the Game to be honest. Great detail, Armor and Weapon change as you equip, a small Skill and Rebirth system to advance further later one.

It is a not an Idle game. It is not a clicker. You fight automaticly, in fact you get nothing to do while the fight is going on. once the fight is done all you do is set Stats, Skills, melt armor down, equip Armor/Weapon. Off to another advventure.
You cannot idle it, you have to go to the next area by yourself. Kind of weird

Yet is does have a satisfying feeling to it, beating the Area you couldnt before. Yes there is some grind involved, But thats absolutly expected in this "genre"

Overall i do like it, hours should reflect it. Its a small game, im not quite done yet but soon. Give it a try, its cheap and offers some entertainment. Maybe there is more beyond - didnt not finish it yet, like i stated.. TL:DR - Yes buy it if you like these Games, Cheap yet fun.

This is a fairly fun sword N' board RPG with the aesthetic of a clicker but there's no idling or clicking here, you have to remain fairly active. The only "idle" aspect of the game is you cannot control the fights in any way, and you have to watch the entire thing go down regardless if it's going well or not.

It's pretty fun and the prestige mechanic is well done, adding big experience and skill gains to help smooth out one's early-game. There's no currency here, but you simply convert all your useless loot into their own loot boxes that will spit decent gear back at you as well as more skill points.

That does tie into a couple of complaints I have; There's a fair amount of walls to run into. None are insurmountable, but the loot boxes you acquire are all tied to the same table. Basically, this means you'll run into the same walls in every game despite your major experience bonuses. Every zone drops the same quality stuff so even though you're stat-boosted, you still might not have the defense or hitpoints to survive certain fights until you grind enough for the loot boxes to give you actual upgrades. I find it's typically my main source of upgrades.

There's essentially no way to steamroll anything but your actual level.

Also your skills are all percentage based, so a lot of the higher-end fights can come to pure RNG. I find myself farming a couple spots and in one of the higher level zones, I can lose 20% of the time just based on the RNG. If my heals don't proc, if my companion doesn't do her heal, or if the ressurection ability doesn't pop, then at certain moments I can be incredibly screwed.

I'm sure there's some meta builds to be had here, but I haven't yet found them. Ten hours in and my best stats can be around 60,000 hitpoints, 160,000 damage and 12,000 defense... Meanwhile I'm seeing screenshots in the millions. But then, I'm also only 6 points in Retirement so maybe that stuff comes later.

Either way it's a pretty fun RPG if you don't mind a little grind. I typically play this at the end of my day while watching podcasts.. I can't stop playing it ! What a fun game ! !. Most idle style games are free, and for good reason. Their mechanics are generally simplistic, and often their art and sound are subpar (if not almost offensively "retro").

Great Hero's Beard is the rare exception for the genre-it's of an unusually high quality in both art and sound, and is fairly engaging. Rather than being able to leave the game alone for hours, coming back to reap the benefits of your AFK time, it requires you to regularly (every couple minutes or so) come back to the game and recycle your gear or change stages.

While it doesn't reinvent the wheel with its moment-to-moment gameplay, it keeps things engaging with a very pleasant ambient soundtrack and hand-drawn art and animation style. Trading in your loot (dropped by enemies) builds a meter that eventually awards you either higher quality gear, or stat/skill points, making it more than just a tacked-on feature with no long-term value.

Your character's appearance will also reflect his current gear, which is a nice (and frankly, necessary) minor feature of the game.

If there's really any complaint, it's that while every piece of gear has a unique name (Like "Poor Butcher's Cleaver" or "Infected Priest's Barbed Hand Wraps", the names are for flavor only, and don't seem to reflect the quality of the gear, or any of the stat boosts that you might get from them. All cleavers look the same, all tunics look the same, etc. While I understand the practicality of that, it seems like needless flavor text that I generally ignore, and instead simply look at the stat lines before recycling or equipping.

Also, since this is an idle game, it's not a "clicker"...clicking your mouse does nothing, and so you don't have to worry about clicking like mad and dealing with finger cramps. As far as I'm concerned, this is a huge plus.

At its heart though, this is just a game about numbers getting bigger, and trying to make your numbers bigger than your opponents' numbers. If you don't like idle-style games, you're probably not going to like this one.

But if you even SLIGHTLY enjoy them, this is worth buying, particularly on sale.. All in all a fun experience. If you want to beat the very last boss though you're in for a long and monotonic grind. I don't mind grind in this kind of game in general but I would prefer if there was a more consistent way than waiting for extremely rare drops by doing the same level for several hours.

For the price I did get my moneys worth times 10 so I'm happy. The music and visuals are really bringing it all home too.. Fun, gear based, and nice artwork

Big Reset Button, is now available to anyone lvl 60 retirement - it resets Turgut's stat points for reorganization
Incremental Saves added as failsafe, these occur on any Big Reset and retirement
Save functionality a bug was removed that could've been responsible for lost saves
Prevention method for those who accidentally had a princess 1 level too high, this allows the bug to fix itself so you can play without error
Map Camera is reset upon the beginner zones, not the frozen zone

Avalanche Legendary Axe drop boosted from 0.01% to 2%
Sea King's Legendary Sword drop boosted from 0.01% to 0.05%. Update 1.14:

Turgut's maximum retirement level increased from 60->80 but beware the consequences it brings to Turgut's health!

Turgut's max upgrade stats increaed 200->250

Max princess level increased 120->130

For quality of gamer life, we have also added a feature which allows you to convert your unused Skill Points to Stat Points at a rate of 1 skill point for 2 stat points.
This becomes available after you hit retirement 30 and remains available the rest of the game.

*New Battle Helpers feature. Pick which one of your princesses you want to fight along in battle. They gain XP and level up just like Turgut. After leveling up distribute stat and skill points of you liking. The higher the total level of all princesses the more bonus stat points you earn.
