Geneforge 5: Overthrow features nine character classes and an enormous world with over 80 areas to explore. Choose among five different factions, each with its own beliefs, cities, and quests. Help the rebels or fight them. Slay your enemies or use stealth and diplomacy to outwit them. Your choices will shape the world, and there are dozens of different endings. Choose for yourself how the saga will finally end.

Love spiderwebsoftware and their games, I've played them all basically as they were being released.. I remeber this game it was one of the first games i played on the computer next to FATE and Plant's vs. Zombies
I Spent most of my time repeating the demo until i got the full game and played it all the way through (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE ADVENTURE ABD GOOD STORY LINES!). I lovwd the Geneforge games. I used to play them when I was five, and they still are fantastic today. Get the Geneforge bundle, though. One game costs 19.99, but the whole bundle is the same price! Or if you can wait, I got the bundle for 8 bucks on sale. Fantastic series, 10/10.. Great Ending to the Saga, very replayable because of all the paths you can choose, great value for entertainment/hour.. The best in the series, I think this is one of the best tactical RPGs I've ever played. It has a great mix of oldschool RPG style and modern features.

For those unfamiliar with the series: There are shapers and rebels (and some other factions I won't spoil). Shapers create life and bend creatures to their will. They have great power through their wealth, armies, and special shaping knowledge. They're pretty much gangsters though, ruthlessly ruling their lands with an iron fist. Side with them and they will bend you to their will, but offer riches and powerful knowlege as rewards. The rebels, on the other hand, are sick of the shapers and more equalitarian in their rule - granting rights to shaped creations. They don't have the resources of the shapers but offer freedom and a sort of morally enabled good nights sleep. there are a bunch of other forces in play too.

Tread the world of geneforge carefully, forming alliances, gaining skills, creating an army of followers, and generally becoming a badass. Great replayability.. previous Geneforge 4 review

Graphics: Better graphics and lighting effects than the previous four Geneforge.
Control: Nice and not-so-clear dramatic tutorial, fixed key binding.
Replayability: Somewhat High.

The cliche of this game is... you are amnesic! hurray! But most of the important characters know who you are... and none of them will tell you out of the kindness of their hearts. All of them will exploit you and profit of the actions of the 'mysterious stranger'. You can be an obedient Shaper tool and happily slaughter Rebel scum and Unbound, the Mad Lizard's mad glowing lizards. I killed about 20 Unbound, if I missed some I will appreciate information on their whereabouts to clean Terrestria for good.
Of course you can be Rebel scum as well but... Why?
The narrative is good, the freedom is back. I enjoyed playing Geneforge 5 almost as much as Geneforge 1.
The Geneforge Saga is a perfect cycle: You know who you are but not where you are to you don't know/remember who you are but you know where you are.

Things I learned:
-Serviles smell bad.
-Uss is Drakon speech for 'Fort'.
-Drakons become duller every next game.
-Wingbolts are OP
-I got the 'pleasure' of killing Greta and Ghaldring... again.

The end. This game is a freaking masterpiece. I've played it through at least 3 times, bought it on steam to add it to my collections. Just buy it. Trust me. 200+ hours of gameplay if you buy the package, and it's on sale 90% of the time.

NOTE: Tons of reading. This game is more about the reading than anything else. If you aren't into reading, get into it and then buy this.

Pro's :
- VERY in-depth storyline
- multiple different endings
- become a god, basically.
- Replayability
- Simple, early 2000's design.

Cons :
-Graphics are simple, so if you don't like retro-ish things it may not be for you
-Combat is pretty repetitive after a point
-Classes aren't balanced well; Shaper\/Lifecrafter will always be #1

Trust me, I've got 200+ hours on the series. Just buy it.

(PS: too hard? Cheat Codes. Still too hard? Check the Spiderweb Software forums for an unofficial patch to add in a console). One of the best isometric RPG's out there, Spiderweb Software really makes amazing games. Fantastic setting, good gameplay, interesting story with lots of endings and choices, as well as unique philosophical points brought up.
