This movie is based on the movie "unlawful entry". A police inspector (played by Milind gunaji) gets obsessed with the wife of a doctor and tries to break them part by hook and crook.
Dr. Rohan Verma and his wife Suman; a teacher by profession are settled and lives a happy, wealthy life-style. They will find that their lives are not the same anymore when they befriend a helpful police inspector Indrajeet Saxena who comes to their aid on several occasions. Indrajeet confides that he is romantically attracted to Suman and started to behave in a way that upturn the couple's life. He will now go to any length to not only break up the couple's marriage life but to have his way with Suman at the same time.
This movie is a remake of the 1992 Hollywood thriller 'Unlawful Entry' after the horrendous Takkar. Fareb is a pretty decent remake but it is a scene-by-scene lift from the original.

I wished Vikram Bhatt added some new twists and turns to the plot. He has a flair for doing that. But he totally missed it there.

Newcomers Faraaz Khan and Suman Ranganathan show promise and can unblock a future of prospects before themselves. Milind Gunaji was good too.

Music is very good, especially 'Yeh Teri Aankhen Jhuki Jhuki'. This song is my favorite and I can't go to sleep without listening to it at least once in a day. 'O Humsafar' is also a good song too. Editing is fine and so is the cinematography.

As mentioned earlier, Fareb could've been much better if it had its own twists and turns. I already watched the Hollywood original so I already knew what's gonna happen in the climax. But those who haven't seen the original, watch it. I recommend Fareb to you guys. You'd probably love it! Vikram Bhatt started his career with small budget films like Jaanam FAREB too was one of them, In true Bhatt traditions the films are mostly Hollywood copies, star newcomers, are shot mostly in Ooty and of course the voices are dubbed, Fareb can tick mark all the following. The film introduced Faraaz Khan, Suman Ragnathan and Milind Gunaji who appeared in small roles before, none could last for long though. The film is a remake of Unlawful Entry but yet it is thrilling, the romance is treated subtely and not much focus on it thankfully, the scenes involving Milind Gunaji are well handled, his psycho behaviour is well treated. The film moves at a good pace though predictability does seep in towards later portions yet the film is engaging

Vikram Bhatt does a good job though the film is an almost copy paste Music by Jatin Lalit is superb, Aankhon Se Dil Mein is a superb number and still played many times, O Humsafar too is good, Yeh Teri Aankhen too became famous

Milind Gunaji tries hard and does succeed in his psycho behaviour part Faraaz is okay in his role, for a debut, his voice is dubbed Suman Ragnathan too is dubbed and she is decent Vishwajeet Pradhan is decent, Kunika leaves a mark in a small role rest are okay
