About This Game

The Second Sino-Japanese War is part of the World War II, but this brutal war in Asia was, for a long time, forgotten by the world.

The war in Europe lasted six years, while the war in China lasted eight years.
Moreover, Chinese resistance against the invasion had already started since 1931, following the 918 Incident, also known as the Mukden Incident.

Decades of war and conflict led to thousands and millions of casualties within China, and the Chinese people persevered through a national crisis of unprecendented suffering.
We commemorate the warriors who sacrificed themselves for the nation, and express our gratitude to those foreign allies who rendered their assistance to China in the war.

"Company of Heroes: Far East War" is a modification for Company of Heroes, the product of years of work from many skilled modders from various countries and regions, who hold a great sense of historical responsibility.

This modification is centered around the 1937-1945 Second Sino-Japanese War, in which players can command a company to regiment-sized unit of the Chinese National Revolutionary Army or the Imperial Japanese Army in battle.

The mod pays close attention to detail to the depiction of unit formations, uniforms, weaponry, and equipment of the Chinese and Japanese armies of the period. Everything from rank insignias on an infantryman to the paint used on vehicles are made to be as historically accurate as possible.

Far East War supports multiplayer matches of up to 8 players, with various different strategic and tactical choices available. b4d347fde0

CoH Far East Modification sends you into the 2nd Shino-Japanese War fought (mostly) between Republic of China and Empire of Japan. ( just for the record: startet in July 1937 and ended in September 1945.)

Stating the fact this isnt an "official" addon but a well made modification created by talented modders during their free time for the classic RTS Company of Heroes, this mod just fits fine into the gap that Relic left there: 2 new factions taking place in the asian theater in the Mainland of China.

During my playtrough the fights where quite infantry heavy and artillery guns came in handy to back up your troops and stop enemy advance but also seems somewhat to powerful. and once the IJA came out with a higher number of armored vehicles and tanks they seem to easly flip the battle, so i think theres some balance issues with artillery and vehicles/tanks.

Nevertheless due its originality showing a quite unknown war and hopefully some more balance tweaking coming up in the days to come, this mod deserves a recomendation.. Game looks good in the vid and pics but cant even start a battle... when loading skirmish battle for example the loading bar gets to 2/3rds and game pukes an appcrash error... This needs fixin...

Also the error report seem so huge my TEMP folder is not big enough for it even if it has barely anythin in it!. Buggy and too much useless information in the skill tree.. The only thing bad about this game is that kamikadze do not scream Banzaaaai!!!... otherwise 9,7/10. Allied AI is completely broken, they sit there in their bases and do absolutely nothing (you're lucky if they build some units to keep there). Other than that no other problems that they haven't already talked about.

EDIT: AI seems fixed with latest patch, so go ahead and give it a shot.. I like the concept........execution not so much
audio ques really really mess up your pace when you hear the german commander shouting about pioneers and youve got a rifle unit in your hands. One of the best mod for COH1 (just in my opinion)

Sherman now can wander around like a king-tiger lol

But pls, fix the crashing issue. This is a great Mod...I wish it was for CoH2 but that would be my only real complaint, and a minor one at that. Great Job!
