I couldn't enjoy this game as much as i'd like to. So, from what few hours i've played, here's what i think of it so far: the narrations/voice-overs was dull, & i thought the controls for combat were too 'weird' for an action styled game; if you press the dodge button twice really fast, the game will put the 2nd dodge input into a queueing-system, forcing you to dodge twice even after secondsish of no input from the time of your 1st dodge... so if you ever panic & rapidly press the dodge button (like i do all the time xP) then you end up dodging when you dont want to...., which can be very frustrating if an enemy hits you because of that
For the price of what it is, its not bad, but its not good either. Probably the best game in the genre, when it comes to the indie space. Considering this game was made just by two people, it's a little, hidden, gem. I had a good run, didn't manage to complete it, but I loved the controls and exploring the world this game is immersed in.. Great game, just hard to play with a Keyboard, you really need a Controller IMO. The game play is smooth and people who like hardcore action are going to love this. I would recommend this game if you liked Dark Souls.

Definitely worth it if you like Dark Souls; its not too complex but has a ton of atmosphere and looks beautiful as well. And ofc lots of thing copied form the souls series, including the imput lag haha.. I do not at all see what makes this a playable game. I'm out after < 30 minutes.
The graphics are poorly done with sad cut scene voice overs. The controls are terrible. We know what computer game controls should be ... this is clearly a terrible map of console controls. Extremely awkward.
The layout is terrible. We're presented with a person to fight, however no weapon until you run for quite a ways. And then he can't be beat.
Completely lost on the developers is any sense of fluidity and engagement. I just wanted something fun to do, not a skill building tutorial on managing my toon through a bad interface and thin story.. Can I please play that game with the awesome combat and story that everyone is going on about? Because it isn't this one. The story doesn't try to disguise that it is a mere Souls knockoff. Not inspired-by. Copied almost down to the letter.
That daughter you are supposed to drag around doesn't much to make it interesting. I only makes picking up after death a little harder and more punishing. This game made me cry ;-(

. Great game, I can't believe it was developed by two people.. While the game looks pretty, it seems like it is a badly ported console game.
Input lag is a huge issue. Click keys, and *maybe* the game will register the input within the next few seconds, Maybe.
The voice overs were bland, often sounding like a bored teen was reading them. The narrative pacing, as well as the pacing of the intro movie was abysmally slow, and dragggggggggged on, with odd pauses, where there should have been none. In English, at least.
The input lag or non-recognition of input by the game, made combat basically impossible. Dying constantly, due to clunky combat and porr controls, just is not fun. Combat behind solid objects gives no target outlines or sight through some obljects like walls or curtains, You have to poke and hope you block or hit something. Again, not fun.
May be better if using a controller. No idea, I didn't feel like trying after the frustrations of trying to stay alive for 10 minutes, multiple times. It just got old. and was not compelling enough for me to keep trying. And the controls have zero accessibility options if you have RSI issues arthritis, or tendonitis issues in your hands. Which I do, both arthritis and tendonitis. The controls were so awkward they were painful, physically painful. Spamming keys, hoping one input will actually take, generally does not feel "nice" to sore hands.
Yes, I refunded. The game just did not feel good to me.

It is possible to roll back to previous version: right-click the game in the library, go to Properties -> Betas tab, and select "Original_build" from the drop-down menu.. Fall of Light is coming on console!:
