Mal is under too much pressure of being royal with Prince Ben and returns to the Isle of the Lost where she comes across her enemy Uma (daughter of Ursula). Uma is angry at Prince Ben for not inviting her to Auradon Prep and creates a pirate gang including Harry (son of Captain Hook) and Gil (son of Gaston) to break down the magic barrier and unleash evil into Auradon. Can Evie, Carlos, Jay and Ben stop Mal turning to her wicked ways?
Under lots of pressure from royalty, Mal returns to the isle of the lost to find her enemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, has taken over. Uma has a team of pirates including Harry, the son of Captain Hook, and Gil, the son of Gaston, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon so villain kids can live there. Now it is up to Evie, Jay, Carlos, and Ben to stop Mal from becoming evil again and to stop Uma, Gil, and Harry from breaking the barrier.

Wow. People have no idea how to enjoy classic Disney for what it is. This has all the hallmarks of a feel good, mostly great acted, stunningly choreographed Disney film that is based on beloved characters. The costumes are based on them and supposed to look that way, and it's supposed to be charmingly cheesy. It's based on Cartoons and childhood stories.) It's also not a drama, and it was leaps and bounds above the first one. Yes, the dragon was annoyingly fake, and there were places where it was slow, but there were so many good song and dance sequences. I still can't believe they pulled off dancing on a water stage. It has the feel of a live WDW stage production. Loved the music although in several places it is very obvious that the words do not match the lips that are doing the singing. The dragon is way too fake looking for this day and age of high tech movie realism. Also couldn't stand the sappiness of the love story theme and the character of goody-goody Ben. Too bad because this had the potential to be a thrilling musical for kids. Instead it's a fake, sappy show that seems like it's intended for little girls under the age of 7. There are, however, some good scenes, especially with the pirates. And there are some likable, heroic main characters (with the exception of Ben who is totally irritating), but I have to agree with another viewer who said that the actors look like they just want to go home. Can't blame them. Disney can do better. Little kids will probably like it.
