About This Game

You and your friends are stuck deep in the Congo jungle, hunted by packs of demons lurking in the darkest areas. Light is your friend in this hostile environment. Scavenge equipment and utilize good teamwork to secure your route of escape in this top-down co-op horror action game.

The jungle is full of surprises. As you explore towns, rivers, caves and more it is essential that you keep a close eye on your surroundings for the demons that are stalking your every move, waiting for the ideal opportunity to take you out for good. Make sure to stay in groups, or you could be out of luck!

  In Congo, it is important to work as a team to survive the dark jungle with up to 4 players online or splitscreen with local coop. Watch each others backs to stop the demons from taking yours, and share your supplies to keep everyone in fighting fit order.
  
  
• Light is your friend, demons lurk in the darkness
  The demons in the jungle have become used to the dark, foggy environment of the Congo jungle. The light scares them and you can use this to your advantage. There are many old buildings around, but after years of neglect, you’ll need to find some fuel to keep the lights on and make a much needed rest point. In the mean time, some flares and flashlights will keep the demons at bay for a while, just beware of what lurks behind you. Some of the demons are small and fast, be wary of these as they could knock you off your feet at any moment. Others are large and strong, make sure you don’t get hit by one of these, or it could cost you dearly.
  
  
• Immerse yourself in a deep and hostile environment
  The jungle is packed with many interesting places. Each map contains many hidden interesting locations that you can find if you dare venture out into the jungle. Congo makes the most of the Unreal Engine 4 to provide these locations with 6 Objective maps and 16 defense maps.
  
  
• Extensive Arsenal
  The jungle was heavily militarized before the demons ran over the place. As such, you can find a wide variety of different guns waiting for you to use them in your escape. There are also a variety of items to help you blow up rocks, set up improvised traps and open locked gates.
  
  
• Hone your skills
  Each time you play Congo, you will learn something new to help you survive more easily next time. You will also gain valuable experience that will help make your character faster at reloading, survive longer, open gates quicker and much more. As you play through the game you will gain access to a selection of items that you can start with.

Fired this puppy up on my awesome highspeed laptop, cracked open a tall one.. grabbed a handfull of POPCORN..
and BAM.. there i was.. sitting in the lobby.
alright i said.. THIS IS GONNA BE one hell of a BULLRIDE!

as the game loaded, i knew this was gonna be the game i have spent years searching for.
and now "my" story begins..

heard the soothing sounds of CRICKETS.. silently chirping in the background.. as a fire lightly snaps with unknown shadows dancing amongst this darkened island of INTENSE mystery..

and AGAIN. CRICKETS chirping somewhat silently in the background.. I SAID CRICKETS CHIRPING>> \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665ING TO DAM LOUD ..

Well, at least the crickets without a doubt fit this game PERFECT i tell ya.. lets just say it was
joined GAME..
only me online.. went from beer to several shots of "hair of the dog" waited half hour.. still only me online.. waited a week.. still only me online..

awesomely rated. I HOPE EVERYONE BUYS THIS GAME .. a perfect colletion to go with all them other perfect EA games that are so promising in our steam libraries.

hahhahahahhahhhahahhahaaaaaaaa. This game changed very little from early access to full release. Don't buy it.

Once you realize every strike and kill is the same and so is every enemy (Two enemies. Such variety!) there is little else to do but complete the objectives that, without satisfying gameplay, are left feeling pretty tedious.

Inventory and item system is really bad. Loot crates will "pop" open and throw your stuff into unreachable areas. Travelling across the maps is very convoluted, and represents the greatest part of the games difficulty.

There is virtually no story. The scary atmosphere will wear off very quickly as well. Sound seems to be centered on crackling bushes. Demons (sloths) are everywhere, so there is endless crackling from their trips in and out of the bushes.

My old review stated that this game could be good in time. Time has passed, it didn't work out for this game.

Don't buy this. Even if you have 3 friends to play with.

Demons still look like sloths.

edit : My play time is low. That's how long it takes to get through the content on this game.. i want a refund. Great fun game.. I ejoyed the game, graphics are good and very atmospheric, I really felt I was in the Jungle and felt the need to find my way. I also thought the varieties of games was good and my favourite was Abandoned Caves. I liked the the need to achieve a task and try to keep myself alive. Maybe the Tutorial could include a few more hints!. I think this game would be better if other people playing it. And if you have this game please friend me so i can try out multiplayer congo instead of playing by myself. No.. just.. No.

don't waste your money to this game. I regret spending $20 to get it for me and my friends >8I

Hello tigers! Thank you all for your feedback and contributions to Congo, we read every comment and review and it's really helping us focus on what needs to happen in the next few updates.

We are currently working on an update that should hopefully smooth over some of the issues people have been experiencing. One of the issues is optimization and the performance. We have just updated to a newer version of Unreal Engine 4.. We've gone from 4.5 to 4.7 and there's a number of features in this more recent version of UE4 that will directly affect the performance.

A lot of the performance increases will be through the foliage system, lighting system and the navigation systems which should increase frame rates. After v0.3a, it will be great to hear from you guys and see what differences it makes to you.

It also seems that a number of people have been experiencing crashes and gamefreezes. This is something we are determined to fix, if you have experienced a crash, please let us know by sending us the details of the crash and your system specs to [e-mail]

We'll be updating the options as well, increasing the number of resolutions available and trying to sort issues in fullscreen mode and other window modes.

Hey tigers!

Hope you've all enjoyed the weekend and got up to many an adventure! It's just a quick announcement to keep you all in the loop about the development and that in the next update should hopefully be the new Cave level which will contain one objective map and one defense map. I am also starting work on an Airfield map which should be with you all in a month or two if all goes well!

On a side note, I have a little bit of a plea to all you awesome guys who have been Congo-ing it up since our early access release. Unfortunately, we have had a few negative reviews recently which has bumped us down to the 'Mixed' category which is pretty heart-wrenching for us to see and a scary shade of red. It's totally understandable that there are some bugs and some issues that need to be ironed out and we're working our hardest to get it complete and bug-free!

Our plea would be that if you like Congo and want to help see us through the development but haven't yet left a review, then please please do :) We'd love to hear it and it would be a great push to help us get Congo complete and push us out of the Mixed category!

Also, v0.2a is outtt nowwww! We have updated our HUD. Quite a simple change, but we have combined the top "Ammo count" and the bottom stack of current weapons. Definitely a lot smarter and definitely a lot cleaner. Let us know what you think!



We have also fixed a number of bugs that were lurking around in v0.2 which included:

Mouse Focus
The mouse was sometimes not focused on the application which meant the first click could potentially click out of the game. This is now fixed.

Camera Lock after Inventory
The camera would sometimes lock after the inventory, but this is now fixed

'Take Ammo' Button
The Take Ammo button has now been set to the Alt key. This wasn't working in the v0.2 but now it is!

Mac-10 Firing
We have changed the way the Mac-10 fires. It is now a short burst weapon.

Smoothed Spectator Camera
We have made a number of tweaks to the Spectator mode which means the camera is now much smoother.
