I agree with Super Phillip, this is probably a Top-10 Game of the Year, for me too. I love arcade racers be it in water, mud or outer space.

It's extremely expensive but if you look for competitive water racing it's the best option you have. The content is of high quality and there are lots of championships and other game modes. The realism, in particular the jetskis and how the character leans from side to side, is quite spot on.

If you're serious about arcade racing and enjoy the challenges water brings, and you don't mind spending a buck or two, then I can recommend Aqua Moto Racing Utopia.. Its more of a simulation with weak turning. I think its a little too realistic, I was expecting more of an arcade experience. With games like Riptide 2 and Riptide GP: Renegade being such fun and arcade like, this one just feels sluggish to me. Its definitely more realistic than both Riptides, and considering the prices of both Riptides and HydroThunder in the windows store, this one is a tough sell unless 80% off. Sorry to sound so negative, but it you are like me and love arcade racers, this is just boring. But in the defense of the game, there is no mention of arcade anywhere, so maybe I just have unrealistic expectations.. This game has much potential.
But it has not reached its final potential.
The steering doesnt feel right if you played waverace in the past.So there is no fun to play it.
I bought it in early access and had the hope that it will be that one game on PC but it isnt.
Cause its out of developement and not early access anymore I cannot recommend it.
Wasted money.. i know i only have a little time 6 attempts, and everyone else likes it . I have to confess more of a simmer and im older than most people here im sure but controlling it is sooo frustrating, i fix boats for a living and accounting for loose arcade feel to be the waves are strange in that instead of just up and down they twist you around and cause loss of aim at last momentr and times out on me
I wish there was a mid choice besides yes or no...I dont recommend. I was really not a fan of how this game controlled or felt in earlier versions, but I really like how it turned out in the end! There is just a good, satisfying weight to the character and vehicles when leaning and turning now that was missing before. Props to the developer for continuing to patch and improve the game.

There's a fair amount of content as well. You can use both standing jet skis and sit down waverunner style crafts. There is a full career mode if you want, or single races, time trials or trick runs as well as free roam in every map to just mess around or complete a little collection game. And online multiplayer as well.

The graphics aren't exactly amazing, but they do the job and it also runs at 250fps in Ultra mode for me on a GTX 1070 so I can't complain too much.. Good fun game with some nice backdrops, different and well done.. It's actually pretty good. - the graphics and gameplay are solid. When I was abke to find multiplayer, it seemed good as well. It does have flaws: the sound and music (and announcer) could be better e.g. there's a seagull sample loop that is just sloppily pasted on the audio canvas; the power-ups and coin pick-ups don't blend with what is a "semi-realistic" style - too nintendo 64. There are 3 different career modes - runabout, ski, and freestyle (i.e. tricks) which give it variety .I haven't played it enough to tell whether the maps get repetititive, but overall it's a good game.

We have done huge changes in the structure of tournaments because of feedback from the community. Stunt courses are out of championships and put into a championship of their own, graphics have been redone and we have worked through buoy placement to get better racing.

7 new tracks!
1 New championship
1 Environment, swamplands, has been completely redone, now more lush, better water and better tree models.

New Server Multiplayer Function
Now calling out for friends over the vast darkness of Internet can be better heard. Set up a multiplayer server, go into single play while waiting and get messaged when someone enters your server! (We are quite pleased with that one!)

1 Swamplands graphically completely redone. More lush, more living and more fun!
2 Stunt competitions taken out of single player championship as per request from the community.
3 Stunt added as an own championship, you will now stunt of your own free will!
4 Added seven tracks to play in championship in stead of the stunt tracks. (mo game for the money)
6 Better working net code
7 Added functions to lobby. You can now set up a server, start playing a single player game and when someone enters the lobby you get a message in your game so you can join.
8 Our bug hunters found some critters and put them down, many are the trophies of strange creatures hanging over our mantle piece.
9 Respawn button. If you get lost, hold Y (on controller) and get respawn to the track.
10 More AI tweaks for your enjoyment. Less murderous, a bit smarter, a bit better.. New trailer!:

We're celebrating the holidays with a brand new patch. Expect smoother frame rates and an overall improved experience as we have put much effort on optimizations. Among the new features you'll find that we have added AI extras to fill up empty slots when racing online, so now you can start racing immediately while waiting for others to join.

Because of, well, mostly clerical/marketing reasons, we will have to push our release of Aqua Moto Racing Utopia from the 22 to the 29-30.

Just in time for some vacation racing we are proud to release what we think is our best patch yet.

Besides numerous performance optimizations we have also added simplified “Easy Stunts” and optional WASD controls. Online game mode has a new more convenient auto-variation of tracks.

We have also worked hard to improve the water interaction with the watercraft for a smoother experience. Collision handling has been tweaked to be more forgiving towards players.

Its just before Xmas and Santa showed up in the night and silently programmed some changes into our game. We have surveillance footage!

We hired a psychologist to talk to our Ai:s about their childhood and other important events in their life. They are now less prone to attempt murder on you.

Our racing league secretariat was sent to math classes and are now more proficient in actually tally the tournament points.

Our team of interns where sent out on the courses to sandpaper everything so that more friction has been added everywhere. Bumping into things will slow you down more now, making it easier to catch up to the leader when he makes mistakes.

We gave AI some maps for some tracks so they could better find their way around! (Our HR needs some better hiring practices)

When starting a run you will get some boost if you hit your throttle at the exact time you see the word “go” on your screen.

We had a talk to God and asked him to actually put the physics where our eyes saw actual things. This way we got less bruises from falling off for no apparent reason.

The Duckling mama mode was given a larger arena to compete in. (The Duckling mama sports association was loudly protesting the bad treatment of the up and coming extreme sport)

We found a valve in the basement marked “graphical quality” that was closed. We turned it on! (It was a red valve)

Polish and Russian languages added.

We sent our graphics department to the art museum and they came back with some new ideas for the graphics.

We called the exterminator and he put down some poison and we killed some more bugs!
