Usually the red, yellow and green slice views just look along the primary axes, e.g. the red slice always looks normal to the Sup/Inf axis. It looks like when you pressed the show hide button that the yellow view has become reformatted to look at the rotated volume. As I said my slicer does not reformat the slice views by toggling the show hide button so I am not sure why yours does this?
HideVolumeOSD did not work with Windows 11 till now, so I decided to change that and added some extra functionality, which some users have requested. You should have version 22H2 of Windows 11 to run this, I have not tested earlier versions. And it will of course run on Windows 10.
At first view everything is like before, a soon as HideVolumeOSD runs, it hides the Volume bar. But when you open the context menu on the tray icon, you will notice that the menu has a new entry for Settings.
It was working most of the time though sometimes it needs to be restarted. Then today, May 18, 2023, it stopped. Now that idiot designed popup volume is there though its the slim version not the rectangular box.

When deselecting audio or midi tracks, we need to click on an empty area of the screen. We then sometimes accidentally click on the group volume automation lines, which causes the volume on that group track to change. Undoing this action does not undo the volume change that was accidentally made to the group track. This forces us to always lock the group track
Many of us will be using folder tracks to organize and prevent a clutter, and organize the group tracks right below the instrument tracks we are grouping together so that the signal path is made clear. Hiding the group tracks fixes the problem with seeing the volume automation line, but then we will not have immediate access to the group tracks to add plugins and make volume changes (something that is done on a regular basis)
Thats really a mess, I agree. I created a macro, which always locks all groups, to prevent that. Not perfect, but still better than it is now. So my workflow now is to have all groups locked from the beginning and unlock the groups I want to make automation on. After that I hit my keycommand and all groups get locked instantly again.
yeah totally agree. As posted some time ago, this useless feature was introduced from one update to the other, they did not even make it optional so you could turn that off. Since then it is far easier to mess up your automation in a project.
It seems that an instance of MPVolumeView needs to be present on the screen at any time, even if it's not visible. Seems a bit hacky but works. If I only hide the view in the setVolume() function and even call volumeView.showsVolumeSlider = false there, it won't make a difference.
The volume control OSD displays continuously after a few minutes of my microphone being plugged in. Settings do not delay this even by 5 seconds. While the OSD Volume control is displayed it makes a constant stream of keystrokes which prevent certain keyboard combinations from working in some applications, but not all. These keystrokes do not register on some software, though they do on others. Other than this, the OSD also interferes with any applications by visually imposing themselves over any window/screen and prevent the use of certain menus (in explanation if it were over the 'edit' area; you would be unable to use it, unless you knew the key combo or can carefully click next to but not in the Volume OSD control).

I had previously thought that this did not work. However, after re-reading how to use the HideVolumeOSD I think it may of worked. I had to click on the tray icon to get it to work. [Clicking on it could also cause it to switch off; for new users of this software]. Also, reinstalling the version which uses the tray icon version may of been necessary.
The Volume control usually appeared a few minutes after the microphone was plugged in. The Volume control is invisible now. However, certain key combinations still do not work even while it is invisible, in at least one application. I'm treating these as separate problems now. I wrote a ticket to this app now. Since combos like alt + tab and escape + shift + control still work while it's in it is puzzling whether it is an app problem or windows problem or mic problem.
Until a few weeks ago I could adjust the volume with my Apple TV remote without any visible indicator on the tv-screen. Now a small indicator shows up in the right side of the screen when the volume is adjusted. Is it possible to get rid of this again?
What is the best way to determine volumes when I have several hide boundaries? I will typically use volume dashboard and create several bounded volumes then do the math to subtract those from the total. Easier way?
This is what I'm after. Need a volume surface of the purple area without the yellow (remove) areas. I would typically bound the large area, then bound each yellow area independent and subtract them from the purple area. Just wondered if there was an easier way to do this, not that this method is impossible.
Hide boundaries remove the surface data from a volume report automatically? I have these areas set up as hide boundaries so then no need to create a bounded area of these as long as they are set to hide?
Easy to test - look at the volume surface stats total without the hide boundaries turned on. Then, turn on the hide boundaries on the relevant surface and reload the volume surface. In the Stats tab the total value should be less.
It seems that when the object is rotated in Edit Mode the "volume" representation will sometimes change, appear and disappear and various angles and distances. I figure there is an option somewhere that I haven't discovered but, in the meantime, does anyone know if it's possible to turn the "volume" display off? It's not bad but it can be distracting.
You can change which controls (widgets) you see in tracks and busus in the Track Control Manager. There are different presets that will show different controls. There is also a Custom preset where you can show/hide the controls you want. All the presets can be modified and changed back to the default.
The Track Control Manager has a separate strip for Audio, MIDI, and Instrument tracks as well as for Bus and Surround. Your Volume and Pan sliders are showing because they are checked in the Track Control Manager being used in that project. You can select a different preset, or use the Track Control Manager to uncheck and hide them in the preset being used.

I can't think of a reason as to why you'd want to create a hidden volume in VeraCrypt. It says because "you may be asked to hand the information," but why would I need to hand it over? Nobody has any proof of what may or may not be in that volume, so they can't claim that I'm doing something unlawful (assuming I was), because they literally have no proof of absolutely anything. Hence, they cannot make me hand over the password nor can they penalize me for defending my privacy and refusing to hand over my personal files without any proof that those files are somehow harmful (or whatever you wanna call it).
Neither of those assumptions are necessarily true. For all you know, some random thief could grab your laptop while you are using it, notice a VeraCrypt file sitting on the desktop, and pull out a gun and force you to decrypt it. It's not super realistic, but definitely possible.
And even if it is indeed a government, not all countries have privacy protections or require reasonable suspicion. Even in ones that do (e.g. US and many European countries), there have been lots of cases where courts have forced people to supply their decryption keys because it is deemed relevant to an investigation.
