Shock new Australian candidate emerges for vacant England coaching role

Simon Katich - the former Australian batter - is firming as one of the favourites to take over as one of two England cricket head coaching roles, according to a UK report.



The former excellent left-hander, who spent time at the top of the order and in the middle, was singled out as the emerging - and leading - candidate to take over from Chris Silverwood.

Birmingham 2022: Photographer shines a light on grassroots sports

An exhibition is highlighting gender, equality and diversity in grassroots sports around the West Midlands as part of a project celebrating the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.



Photographer Jaskirt Boora, from Sutton Coldfield, has photographed members of sports clubs mainly in Birmingham and Sandwell for People, Place and Sport.

Liverpool survived a late scare FA Cup final with victory over Manchester City at Wembley.

If last Sunday's Premier League meeting between the clubs was a classic, this semi-final was effectively decided in a one-sided first 45 minutes, in which a mixture of ruthless finishing and Manchester City mistakes saw Liverpool take a 3-0 lead.



A reshuffled City side were unable to recover as Liverpool, having won the Carabao Cup, are now in the FA Cup final too - as well as the last four of the Champions League, while sitting second in the Premier League.
